We will risk the fairly safe assumption, as this is being written, that Air Force One did not make an appearance at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport sometime Thursday....
You almost have to laugh at this latest chapter in the seemingly endless birther saga, because about the only alternatives at this point are tears and/or nausea.
It was embarrassing enough when members of the Georgia legislature -- including, to Columbus acute humiliation, two members of the local delegation -- drafted a Presidential Eligibility Assurance Act in the last legislative session.
Now Georgians get to enjoy the added spectacle of their secretary of state, Brian Kemp, warning the president (let that sink in -- warning the president) through a White House attorney that failure to appear in a Georgia court would be at your own peril....
Peach Pundit editor Charlie Harper, in a blog published this week in the Savannah Morning News, wrote: This is a mistake. We are taught from a young age that we will be judged by the company we keep The birther argument transcends disagreements of policy and politics and spirals into pure nuttery. How true.
Georgia, no thanks to some judgment-impaired officials and certainly without the consent of the governed, has been slumming in the Orly Taitz nuttery neighborhood way too long. Please, for the sake of the states already battered image, lets just quietly tiptoe out of this putrid political ghetto and back to the daylight side of town before we attract any more ridicule....

What you said! I'm sick and tired of the drivebys and their Saul Alinsky ridicule tactics.
You deserve a little zot-action, too.
Art 2, Section 1 of our blessed Constitution:
No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
The two categories are bolded. There are none more of the 2nd category. They are all dead. Hence, Presidents these days must be a natural born citizen. The case law is clear. A person's parents must be citizens at the time of the person's birth to be a natural born citizen.
You lose.
Here is what the Constitution says!
"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States." I don't see a single word in that about WHERE someone might be born!
Perhaps it is a Penumbra or something!
If your are born of parents (plural) who are themselves citizens you are a Natural born citizen (eligible to hold the office of president) and could have been born on a sailing ship in the middle of the Pacific ocean!
I don’t get how he can even say what he did, given the text of the Constitution on the matter...
I’m sure he’ll insist on it though, regardless of our “lyin’ eyes”.
You are making us look bad. Nearly everyone on FR knows that there are questions which need to be answered about Zero’s citizenship. the more reactionary of us know he is ineligible for the office.
Get an education, Troll.
Who is that a picture of, trannie, You?
Another high-five for tag-team Constitutionalism! You are on fire, bigun!
the court and SOS have total juriscdiction, OBOT.
Consider the source. If not for Ft. Benning, Columbus Georgia would be an even bigger craphole of a town. I am sure hard hitting journalism isn’t their specialty down there.
Attempts to redefine or amend Article II natural born Citizen Clause of the U.S. Constitution
You have to know what the definition is before you can change it.
Because people like him don't know our Constitution, the media and the Democrats can pretty much do anything they want, because the vast majority of Americans don't know any better.
The Constitution is bookmarked in all the browsers on all my computers. I taught it to my children (homeschooled). We should all do the same.
You might have a closer look at the parentage of America’s past presidents. If what you suggest is correct, there’s been a whole lot of violating going on.
My money is on Tex-Con Man. Similar shrill feeling to the posts.
At least in Georgia, the court advises the GA Sec. of State who then allows or disallows inclusion of the nominee on the ballot.
Granted this is seldom necessary but it has happened this way before in other states. And remember, the question of “natural-born” is only relevant to the President and Vice President offices - no other office has this specific requirement.
A NBC is someone born in the US.
Period.
Somebody above mentioned Bladebryan.
Bryan ate it on Jan 9.
Deucer here showed up on the 17.
You want to find a liberal troll? Find a mirror.
And obviously, no amount of facts to the contrary will dissuade you. Carry on.
Not a whole lot.
The only one I know of that had this problem was Chester Arthur, who was sworn in after Garfield was assassinated in October, 1829. His dad was an Irish citizen at the time of his birth. No, he shouldn't have been sworn in.
