Newt must be dangerous to the status quo to get this tsunami of criticism a few days before the FL primary. You’d think he was a foreign-born crack-smoking radical marxist from the the temper of the criticism. Hmmmm. . Why is Newt so dangerous? Didn’t he push through the Contract for America? The last time successful reform was done? I used to be a teacher. Did you know that good professors play devil’s advocate and present all sides of n issue? It’s a shame that like Disraeli, Churchill, Ike, Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln, etc. that Newt isn’t perfect.

I heard that exchange. I wrote on another thread also CST, that I was just sure a FReeper must have called in to let Rush have it on his Romney Pass-itus condition. The guy caller did just fine.

THE SNERDLY COMMENT BURIED RUSH, and even then he used his surrogate Snerdly to deliver the response Rush wanted to emphasize. I heard it. I got it. And I GET it.

14? This morning it was just 9.

Doesn’t Drudge ever get away from his computer?

After all, Rush can not be seen “jaw dropping” like Snerdly can. He uses Snerdly often, to advance something he does not want to actually say himself, but attribute to another or others, as the case may be.

I have never disagreed with Rush since 1985, so this a watershed moment. It has to be pretty obvious for that to happen. But then this is a WATERSHED day to kill Florida for NEWT.

Did Limbaugh, at any time, state that it was an edited hit job?

He said that a blogger named Riehl (sp?) was reporting that it was just a bit sliced out of a longer tape to be misleading. The whole, I guess, is about an hour long. He asked Cookie to listen to it, but either she didn't or didn't get through the whole.

I agree, Drudge may know what he’s doing here. Whether he’s being blackmailed really doesn’t matter. This saturation of his site with Newt attacks is unprecedented and uncharacteristic of his past balance. Consider that the source of all these stories is Washington elite. I think Drudge is pushing it very hard for a reason. The MSM is really losing it’s last shred of credibility and these coordinated attacks are very enlightening. Drudge has to know that Newt attack fatigue has set in and the sheer number of stories he has up will further that. Gay or not, I think Drudge understands what’s really at stake this November. I for one know that the current trainwreck that is Washington will not be averted by a boyscout. Give ‘em hell Newt, you’re the ONLY one doing it!

They are truly scared and getting panicky. The desperation is showing which tells me that Newt is polling pretty well. We need to step up our efforts as well. This is all showing what a scum Romney as well as the entrenched stench in the R party.

I totally agree with you and you articulated and followed his timing into the tea thing .. He never defended Newt even where it would have been easy to and there was an attitude that finally caused me to turn him off. It was as if he were toying with Newt supporters from a lofty perch knowing we wanted him to defend Newt or criticize all the charges but he was playing a game and not letting anyone in on it and having a private laugh or two.

Yes. It was posted on FR. It’s from Dan Riehl. The edit was a hit job. Riehl posted the whole piece.

I heard it.

I have been listening to Rush since the third day that he went national.

Rush has sold out, this is now the fifth year that he has been trying to get Romney into the White House.

Goodbye to Rush as far as I am concerned, I am going to have to reevaluate everything because of what I have seen the establishment do during this last three years.

I heard that as well, he was mocking conservatives and it was very much an in your face thing.

Drudge turned his page into the same in your face thing.

We went to bed thinking that this video would go viral, but instead we woke up to a fierce, dishonest, vicious, preemptive strike.

Nancy Reagan 1995: Ronnie turned that torch over to Newt

I did the same.

Here we are at the battle of Normandy (Florida) under the final major assault from the enemy, before the vote in Florida, with incoming so fast we can’t reload, and RUSH puts on his nerd hat and snorts through a reading of the days headlines, breaking to sell that damn tea. Unforgivable. From that lofty perch of his he could have commanded the troops, but instead, he elects to fog up the battle field and to slow down our reaction to the urgency of the hour.

FIVE days.

Is this how talk radio dies? Not from the Fairness Doctrine, or forcing radio stations to carry local programming, but by being co-opted?

Wow, that’s depressing to think about.

It really is time for a new generation of conservatives to step up and take the reins from these establishment hacks. But who? Where?

Jeff Kuhner of The Washington Times subbed for Michael Savage the other day and bashed Gingrich for practically the entire 3 hours of the show .

Consider this. It's pretty clear that Drudge is not the most "manly" guy in the room. Also, consider that his pal Ann Coulter is buddy-buddy with the GOProud crowd.

I'm betting they both know that Romney is extremely "gay-friendly" while Newt is not.

Does that explain this trend clearly enough?

You’re right, Rita.
Since when does Rush comment in Snerdley’s facial expressions? That was passive aggressive, unnecessary and immature.

Has anyone else noticed that Rush seems to be at least a day behind us in political uptodateness?

I love that he has found happiness with Kathryn but IMO, the preoccupation of his relationship takes away from his sharpness/astuteness. And of course, the latter is much more important. LOL.
