~Favorite Life Song's~

Frank Sinatra - That's Life

That's life, that's what people say.

You're riding high in April,
Shot down in May.
But I know I'm gonna change their tune,
When I'm right back on top in June.

That's life, funny as it seems.
Some people get their kicks,
Steppin' on dreams
But I just can't let it get me down,

Cause this big old world keeps spinnin' around.

I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate,
A poet, a pawn and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out
But I know one thing:
Each time I find myself flat on my face,
I pick myself up and get back in the race.

That's life, I can't deny it,

I thought of quitting,
But my heart just won't buy it.
Cause if I didn't think it was worth a try,
I'd have to roll myself up in a big ball and die.

Mike & The Mechanics - The living Years

Every generation
Blames the one before
And all of their frustrations

Come beating on your door

I know that I'm a prisoner
To all my father held so dear
I know that I'm a hostage
To all his hopes and fears
I just wish I could have told him
In the living years

Crumpled bits of paper

Filled with imperfect thought
Stilted conversations
I'm afraid that's all we've got

You say you just don't see it
He says it's perfect sense
You just can't get agreement
In this present tense
We all talk a different language

Talking in defence

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

So we open up a quarrel
Between the present and the past
We only sacrifice the future

It's the bitterness that lasts

So don't yield to the fortunes
You sometimes see as fate
It may have a new perspective
On a different day
And if you don't give up,
And don't give in
You may just be OK

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear
It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

I wasn't there that morning
When my father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say.

I think I caught his spirit
Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him
In the living years

Say it loud, say it clear
You can listen as well as you hear

It's too late when we die
To admit we don't see eye to eye

La Vida Loca instrumental version, no druggy lyrics and no cuckoo dancers

I like this song because they played this constantly at the 2000 GOP convention in Philly. On election day I was up extremely early to go work at the polls. I walk into the coffee shop and what do I hear blaring from the radio? Imagine! A Republican coffee shop owner way behind enemy lines! It started off the day with excitement and brought back all the memories.

My prayers and best wishes to all the troops and their families. Thank you for the thread.

Hi, Kathy! Not a.bad day - started out in crippling pain but it diminished during the course of the day. Trying to get the desktop fired up. Hope to make it on to the Canteen.
