There was a time when we were allowed to collect scalps off the bad guys and display them on an effigy pole.
Many would-be molestors would view the number of scalps displayed on the village effigy pole and decide to take their "business" elsewhere.

Marcus Patillo, 24, of Merrillville was found dead just before 3 p.m. Jan. 11 in a vacant lot in the 3600 block of Washington Street after being found by a nearby resident. He was wearing all black and a stocking mask when his body was discovered, police said. Run like a chicken with his head cut-off.
Would be nice if they included the calibers involved with articles of this type.
