Newt also stated that Romeny's self deport idea is of "someone who lives in a world of $20M in Cayman Island accounts". And, that to believe "that grandma and grandpa, who've been paying bills, working hard and supporting the community would self deport...self deport?".

Hmmmmm.

I support Newt. I will vote for Newt.

This clip shows Newt at his worst.

The arrogance, the condescension, the demagoguery.

Why doesn’t he just answer the question?

If you close the border, prevent employers from hiring illegals, and cut off government handouts to illegals, then some illegals will go home. This is “self-deportation”. So what do you think about it, Newt?

The interviewer knew Newt was being an arrogant, pandering ass and so he just repeated the question.

Newt will require illegals to get Id cards if they don’t when they get caught they are gone. Newt will close the border with a fence and Homeland security being moved to the border so they can see Mexico from their window! Require businesses to do background checks to hire people! This will end illegals by default. They will leave!

ah yes legalize 20 million uneducated, unskilled, receivers of entitlements for humanitarian reasons and watch the other 300 million Americans get killed by drunks and low-life’s and get stuck with the bill to pay their way with free school, hospitals, welfare, food stamps and housing.

Sometimes you just have to draw a line at generosity and give first to those here legally. Each dollar given to an illegal in benefits or expenses is a dollar not given to a person here legally. The humane thing would be to allow the illegals to leave on their own without being fined or incarcerated and let their own countries take care of them.

Spread our generosity too thin and we will be unable to help anyone. Humane? Methinks not, humanity like charity should begin at home.

Newt’s “ideas” on immigration are detestable, and the pandering to open-borders propagandist Jorge Ramos was nauseating. But it might be worse how he described Romney’s income as “$20 million a year automatic WITHOUT WORKING.” WTF? Like he didn’t work years ago to set up those investments? that he didn’t get double-taxed (corporate 35% and then Cap gains) on much of that income? I want Mittens defeated, but this is not the way to do it.

Is this really different from Gov. Perry using the term “heartless”?

From where I came from, illegal immigration did and does take jobs away from US citizens. It also puts a tremendous strain on a Government already spending us into oblivion, meaning the ones who will truly be suffering are (again) US (taxpaying) citizens.

Gingrich is just wrong on this issue, if he truly means what he says.

I didn't like Bush's amnesty ideas and I don't like Gingrich's amnesty ideas. To me, it reflects an elitist attitude from those who either don't care about the middle class or are so detached they don't understand real America.

Inviting illegals here is a ‘religious’ issue first. But of course the politicos for nonreligious purposes like/need cheap labors and votes. Illegal immigration is not view by those that fill their coffers, get their landscaping done on the cheap, as an ‘law and order’, Constitutional issue. It will be up to ‘we the people’ to demand law enforcement first and foremost to stop the invasion.

All those concerned for the "humanity of illegals," should be looking to run a boat service between the US an Bangladesh, and maybe sharing all their food with the people after they get off the boat. They're human too.

Some of the same people who see Newt as extreme, grandiose, harsh, zany...criticize him for not being in favor of draconian measures to deal with illegal aliens.
One size does not fit all. Trying to make it so would be catastrophic, and we’d lose face trying to put it into practice against a constant parade of pathetic victims trotted out daily by the Dems, while the media hammered us. Newt’s plan is sensible and feasible, and less imperfect than the alternatives. Makes the best of a bad business, as the old timers used to say.
I realize that’s unpopular thinking around here, so for the record I do understand all parts of “illegal.”
