In 2010, she wore red. In 2011, she wore white.
So, what did Michelle Obama wear in 2012? A politically-charged, patriotic shade of blue.
The First Lady looked regal in a short-sleeved, sapphire-blue, Barbara Tfank dress Tuesday evening for the President's State of the Union address.
Tfank, a New York and Los Angeles-based designer, prides herself upon designing pieces that are "timeless."

The First Lady's hair and makeup looked perfectly elegant as well... and we're dying to see some photos of her shoes.

LOL! You’re right about the dog! I thought Yorkie when I saw it last night.
You’re right. The dress is more suitable for a cocktail party. NOT appropriate at all.
And, as usual, her dumpy figure is showing- as well as her usual dead eye expression.
Paging Larry Sinclair. Mr. Sinclair, please pick up the white courtesy phone...
I've seen a lot of Wee Little Men as astronauts. He's the first fat one.
Now, Michelle, I have to say that that is a gorgeous dress. Her "turn-out" as we used to say, is getting much better.
She must be listening to her ladies in waiting, because she should definitely stick to solid, bright colors in simple silhouettes.
Hey, gals, you have to admit. That a beautiful blue dress, and makes her look very nice.
Is she pregnant? If not, that was the wrong dress to wear.
But what is, these days? I'm watching Fox Business, Varney, right now, and generally you see lots of cleavage and tight, too-short, too-tight dresses and extreme, fetishized shoes, false eyelashes and too much makeup. This is business attire?
And I'm probably alone in that I hate, hate, hate seeing brides in strapless dresses. They look like playboy bunnies shaking their boobs around, not demure or decorous brides. Yet, every bride has to flaunt her boobs, her shoulders and bare arms at the altar. Yuck....
So, shiny fabric is not such an offense...
Maybe that’s why she wears the belt. To disguise that area.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
Smugness.
Couldn't agree more. Michelle frequently looks like she's going to a night club rather than a serious state event.
I think that she looks pregnant. If that picture was on the cover of Star Magazine, they would be calling that a baby bump.
You are not alone. I feel the same about all you say, except your comment on shiny fabric. She is First Lady of the US at a time when the economy is broken and people are hurting. Dressing like she’s out on the town for a night of frivolity is not appropriate. What doesn’t show in the photo is the huge, sparkly clip, or pin, across the bosom. That bling, coupled with the satin fabric, was a jarring note against how everyone else was dressed. The dress (if long) would have been appropriate for an Inaugural Ball, not the SOTU.
“Looking as chic as ever elegantly dressed as an ink drop in the latest style that tastefully accents small breasts and large tummies.”
LOL
OK, that got me laughing....and snorting just a bit of coffee through my nose!
"Look at me! Look at ME! LOOK AT ME, PEASANTS!"
"See, First Lady, that Republican is not looking at you!"
