Breitbart News ^ | January 23, 2012 | Wynton Hall

Posted on 01/23/2012 10:47:02 AM PST by redstateone

On the heels of Newt Gingrich’s trouncing of Mitt Romney in the South Carolina primary, Republican Party brass are privately expressing deep concerns that former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich’s high unfavorable rating in national polls could prove catastrophic to the so-called “down ballot”–the House and Senate races under the presidential race–and may even threaten the Republican Party’s control of the House of Representatives...

Limbaugh is talking about this now. He said they don’t feel they can beat Obama so all they care about is controlling the money in the Senate. WE THE PEOPLE ARE SICK OF SUCH WUSSES WHO WILL NOT STAND UP AGAINST A RADICAL IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND WE KNOW WUSSES CANNOT BEAT OBAMA. EITHER GET WITH THE PROGRAM OR GET OUT OF THE WAY! WE THE PEOPLE ARE COMING!!!!

They're actually afraid Newt might win. That's what the elitists are afraid of. The possibility of having a conservative in the White House with a Tea Party GOP Senate and House scares the living hell out of the Ruling Class.

So, ah, basically the Establishment is already conceding the election to Obama. At least John McCain waited until 3 weeks before the election to basically concede and tell us we have nothing to fear from an Obama administration.

There really is a risk. What gets you the presidency can ruin the outcome in the congressional races. That said, you can also be too smart by half.

Maybe if the republicans in congress started exercising their conservative muscle, they’d have a better chance.

These were the same people that said last year that their primary goal in 2012 was winning a senate majority and increasing their house majority—NOT winning the presidency.

I’m sure someone can dig up the memo, but they made it pretty clear they were willing to leave Obama in office another 4 years to achieve those goals. That’s why they were pushing Romney. Not because they thought he had the best chance of winning, but because they thought the GOP would do better in senate and house races with Romney at the top of the ticket—even if he lost.

The only threat the Republican members of the House of Representatives actually see is that their gravy train will end once Newt Gingrich is President.

Note the following:

When Speaker Gingrich allowed Representative John R. Kasich of Ohio, the budget committee chairman, to try to rally House Republicans around a conservative blueprint for more than $100 billion in new savings, the moderates refused to back it.

It was the so-called moderates who pushed Gingrich out of Congress. He left because too many Republicans refused to stop eating off the body of Uncle Sam.

Oh yeah, and many of those Republicans are still in Congress. They are part of the ongoing problem of business as usual in Washignton, D.C. Under a Republican president, they added over $3 trillion to the federal deficit, shunned conservative policy in favor of Beltway influence-peddling, and so damaged the GOP brand that we lost the majority Gingrich had worked years to forge.

Do you really think any of us should give a damn that Newt’s fabulous colleagues think his reemergence would be a disaster for Republicans? No.

The elections of 2010 were NOT a merit promotion; the Republicans were the only alternative in town!

Schmidt is the ass-wipe attack dog for Mutt supporter, Juan MeCain.

Schmidt is the one responsible for all the bad Palin press coming out during the MeCain/Palin 2008 campaign.

The RINOs and Democrats are the exact same. All they believe in is power and money. If the RINOs took a poll and it favored communism, they would support communism. They have no core beliefs.

LOL. When I first saw the headline "GOP Strategist: Republican Establishment Fears Down-Ballot Disaster If Newt Wins Nomination," mu first thought was: "GOP strategist? Obviously not a very good one."

Turns out I was right.

The RINO's are fearing this because it is one of the RINO Gang's brethren that Newt just trounced, and they fear that the people are so excited by Newt's stance on it that all the RINO's cushy jobs are at stake.

I think that the people will be so excited by all this that they will vote straight GOP on the "down" ballot that the GOP could very possibly take both houses. BUT, they may also replace a bunch of establishment RINO's with real conservative who ARE ready to fight for the people.

This is a non-starter...

Got news for them. I am much more inclined to sit out the next election with Romney at the top of the ticket than Newt. I will likely show up either way, but a vote for Romney would be just a “no” vote for Obama, where a vote for Newt would be a vote FOR Newt.

GOP Strategist is an oxymoron.

All Gingrich has to do is get people to the polls. I think there will be huge turnout if Gingrich is nominated.

"They're actually afraid Newt might win. That's what the elitists are afraid of. The possibility of having a conservative in the White House with a Tea Party GOP Senate and House scares the living hell out of the Ruling Class." As it should. They ought to take their medicine now, however. It would be much much more bitter in a bankrupt, post-United States America. Right now they will lose their influence and some perks. Then, they could lose all. Perhaps they think they will be lucky like Putin, rather than unlucky like Ceaușescu.
