Ron Paul Facebook Page
Their is an Aviation Writer who has spoken out about them vociferously. Everytime he flies now, they bust his chops just short of a cavity search...
De-Unionizing and Privatizing via a contract must be in Newt's Platform IMHO..
The TSA should stick to doing what they do best, creating long lines because they believe they are powerful and stealing money and articles out of your luggage once it leaves your position.
TSA the initials of our national prison buddy keepin us safe!
OH!!!! Finally someone with standing! The TSA just might have picked on the wrong person.
They might be able to say that having a ticket is a wavier to search, but sounds like federal agents detained and questioned a U.S. Senator on the way to work. Regardless of the search issue, the questions were unconstitutional:
“They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.”
I will start off with Tom Harkin from Iowa.
More and more every day, this country begins to resemble a third-world banana republic.
Did you ever think you’d see the day in America when government agents would detain opposition politicians?
We need to reduce the size and scope of the federal government by at least 75%.
If the TSA makes Rand miss his spaceship flight to visit his dad, there’s gonna be hell to pay.
I as many know associate Paul, Sr. with space aliens, but I am with him on this one.
There are now five links to four different articles on Drudge.
Per one of the DailyCaller link:
UPDATE 11:35 a.m.:
“The TSA says Sen. Rand Paul was not detained at any point but triggered an alarm during routine airport screening and refused to complete the screening process in order to resolve the issue.
Passengers, as in this case, who refuse to comply with security procedures are denied access to the secure gate area, the TSA adds. He was escorted out of the screening area by local law enforcement.

Uh,...Being escorted out the screening area to another area sounds like detainment to me. He wasn’t able to go where he wanted to go, thus, detaining him.

I hope Rand Paul plays this one right...
It should not be “The TSA dared to detain me! Don’t they know I am a member of the United States Senate... etc”
It should be “The TSA detained me, as they would have detained any one of you, if you had the luxury of refusing to comply with their ridiculous and insulting rules. I do this for you, as a public servant, to point out the unsupportable nature of the TSA policy”.
Yeah, warrantless patdowns are the culmination of demeaning behavior.
Now consider those of us who, due to medical implants (pacemakers in particular) _cannot_ consent to the assorted electromagical scanners.
Democrats: A Kennedy can crash their car in DC at 3AM smashed out of their minds and get politely driven home by DC cops because you cannot detain Congress on way to session.
Republicans:A sober Senator is unlawfully detained by the TSA on his way to DC and punished for using his cell phone.
