  • A TSA official says Paul was "not detained" but left willingly

(CNN) -- Authorities blocked U.S. Sen. Rand Paul at the Nashville airport Monday after the Kentucky Republican refused a pat-down at a security checkpoint, his spokeswoman said.

Paul went through a scanner at the airport and set off an alarm, said his spokeswoman, Moira Bagley. He wanted to go through the body scan again instead of getting a pat-down, but officers of the Transportation Security Administration refused, Bagley said.

” TSA reports to no mortal, that is the problem. “

TSA reports to Janet Napolitano, so your comment would be more accurately stated “TSA reports to no vertebrate..”

The TSA and the Obama government know no laws.

I thought the TSA and the profiling of grannies and nuns started under the previous administration.

It probably will, as most people will continue to support the status quo until we just run out of money and the whole thing comes crashing down.

Might be reading into this a little much, but, Japan, China, Iran, Russia and India moving away from the dollar may be a sign of trouble to come and come fast. So yeah, we better do something smart and fast.

What the TSA does best is a philosophical question, more suited for a think tank studying the inane.

I as many know associate Paul, Sr. with space aliens, but I am with him on this one.

Wow!

I bet you the TSA thugs are trying to get out of this mess. Detaining a Senator on the way to Washington... this is a mess for them.

The stupid kabuki theater of the TSA - which has stopped not one terrorist ever - should finally come crashing down. That they can get away with molesting children and old people and disabled veterans - and no one has done anything about it is a disgrace.

There are now five links to four different articles on Drudge.

Per one of the DailyCaller link:

UPDATE 11:35 a.m.:

“The TSA says Sen. Rand Paul “was not detained at any point” but “triggered an alarm during routine airport screening and refused to complete the screening process in order to resolve the issue.”

“Passengers, as in this case, who refuse to comply with security procedures are denied access to the secure gate area,” the TSA adds. “He was escorted out of the screening area by local law enforcement.”

Uh,...Being escorted out the screening area to another area sounds like detainment to me. He wasn’t able to go where he wanted to go, thus, detaining him.

In the last couple of months I had to go through the full body, raise your arms, scanner about half a dozen times. On three separate occasions, I was forced to endure an additional pat-down.

When asked why, the TSA agents said they spotted something on the scan. I am a seasoned traveler, and dress with no metal. The agents weren't happy when I insisted the machine was defective because it kept finding things that didn't exist.

I was particularly abusive to the agent who started groping me before he told me what he was going to do.

Of course they aren’t saying he was detained. They’re scared to death that they just made a huge PR error and now will say anything to get out of it.

The TSA is just theater for the dummies.

If a terrorist wanted to do something, they easily could. Thousands of Muslim airport maintenance personnel DO NOT have to go through security checks to do their jobs. They have complete access to the inside of every plane - and never have to go through security. Think about that when you get on a plane.

Even the guy who started the TSA sees it as a mistake - he wanted to keep it private so they could be sued as a way to check their power. Not a new giant government unionized police force (made up of some of the stupidest thugs I’ve ever seen).

Once you are in the secure zone you cannot leave without TSA permission. To leave without clearance is a crime.

Interesting that they admit openly of violating the Constitution:

Article 1 Section 6 of the U.S. Constitution:

"The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, be privileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place."

“The TSA and the Obama government know no laws.”

They are going to find it out really, really fast, because this is very clearly unconstitutional.
