On a Sunday morning appearance on Fox & Friends, conservative columnist Ann Coulter explained why Romney fell short in the South Carolina GOP presidential primary, blaming the priorities of South Carolina voters for Gingrichs success.
Apparently, South Carolinians would rather have the emotional satisfaction of a snotty remark toward the president than to beat Obama in the fall, Coulter, the author of Demonic: How the Liberal Mob Is Endangering America, said. We saw it in the debates when Gingrich would say things that didnt really make sense. That is what you usually associate with Democrats, which I described in my last book, Demonic, how mobs behave.
Some of what Gingrich has said might appear to make sense, she said, but should be analyzed more closely.
Something that sounds like it makes sense like, Mitt Romney doesnt have influence over his super PAC that makes you wonder if hell have influence as president, she continued. How many times does Mitt Romney have to say it is illegal for a candidate to have influence on the super PAC. It is not, interestingly, though, for a president to have influence. So it makes no sense if you think about it for all of three seconds, but it sounds like it makes sense. It is just like what you get from liberals most of the time and the cheers and yahoos, and that is what we kept getting from this audience.
Coulter, who has been a Romney supporter since New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said he would not be seeking the Republican nomination, was asked if Romney should change his strategy now that he suffered a defeat in South Carolina, and perhaps go on the offensive with fire in the belly.

Your pink slip is showing, Anne. In fact, you're tripping on it.
She developed a severe case of glottal fry. That’s a sure sign of Beltway Arrogantitis.
She's gone over the deep end. Here's a quote for Ann:
"Be careful of the words you say, keep them short and sweet. You never know, from day to day, which ones you'll have to eat." - Anonymous
Words betrayed her: beautiful butterflies in her mind; dead moths when she opened her mouth for their release into the world. Glen Duncan , I, Lucifer
I think a lot of people are repulsed by Newt. (I am not one of them). He's been around a long time. His track record is well known. It's possible Coulter and Newt have history of some sort.
She's certainly convinced Newt is a loser.
“The next moment a hideous, grinding speech, as of some monstrous machine running without oil, burst from the big telescreen at the end of the room.
It was a noise that set one’s teeth on edge and bristled the hair at the back of one’s neck. The Hate had started.”

Ann seemed to like Newt better a few years ago...
“This is what Republicans are like today. They swear up and down not to trust the liberal media, but as soon as that very media demonize some Republican, half our party is ready to dump him... Another candidate liberals told us was a disaster for the party was Ronald Wilson Reagan... Other Republicans we’ve been told were a disaster for the party are Newt Gingrich who produced the jaws-of-life to tear Congress from the Democrats”

More evidence of hypocrisy from Ann in her column titled “LIBERAL WAR ON TERRORISM HEATS UP: DELAY FINALLY CAPTURED” published on April 5, 2006. She defends Newt against the frivolous ethics charges Nancy Pelosi helped to slap on him:
“at the urging of the Democrats, the Internal Revenue Service spent 3 1/2 years investigating Gingrichs
college course. After all the hullabaloo, the result was: No crime. The classes were not biased toward particular politicians or a particular party thus distinguishing Gingrichs class from every other college course in America.”
Is coulter beginning (or continuing) to sound like anybody’s ex-wife? Just shut up...no one listens to you.
She may be convinced Newt is a loser, but that doesn’t explain her going whole hog for Mitt.
Sadly, she has become irrelevant.
I agree. Her brain has deep fried. She is no longer a conservative in my book.
Once again Ann strives for relevance and book sales.
You bore me Ann, you bore me.
“Can’t wait to see how her book sales drop”
Uh, no. Her next book will also be a best seller. Ann is an entertainer. If you expect her to be some voce of the conservative movement, you are sadly mistaking.
I value Ann’s pick for president about as much as I value any pundits. She is raising the hackles of the left and you have to love it.
I don’t have to love it. Some people are like listening to fingernails on the chalkboard. Somebody gave me one of her books one time and I couldn’t read it. Kept hearing that smartass snarky voice...
Don't endorse candidates during primary elections 101.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
My, how the once mighty have fallen. I recall being flamed intensely on a Coulter thread here on FR a year or two ago because I called BS on her. Her supporters were livid that I criticized her. I guess they’ve either moved back over to DU or decided perhaps there was something to what I said after all.
My husband can’t stand Coulter. He refuses to listen to her. Changing taglines..
“She is no longer a Conservative columnist, she is a Romneyite columnist maybe she was touched by the magic underwear”
I think she took a walk on the wild side. That would explain several really bizarre turns she has made lately.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
