Ann Coulter was just on Fox and Friends. She was crying over the fact that Romney got decimated in South Carolina. She offered a few talking points from the Romney camp including:
1. Newt is the lease conservative of all Candidates running. 2. Newt is unelectable because of his failed marriages. 3. The Freddy Mac non-issue. 4. John K asked a legitimate question and he is a completely fair and honorable reporter. 5. South Carolina is going back to it democratic roots and backing someone who calls Obama a socialist.
She laid out the establishment talking point that everyone who voted for McCain, will vote for Romney, that we need to get the independents.
A good way to evaluate a candidate is by his record. If his rhetoric matches his record, we have a winner. However if the campaign speeches are forgotten after election day, then we have a sleazy political animal.
This doesn't sound unreasonable.
As far as a candidate's personal life goes, sometimes it is best to temper what one hears in the Mainly Slime Media with what the candidate says about the situation...
I'm not bringing up the that "wife on deathbed" false story. Nor, am I bringing up that 2nd wife "open marriage" thing. However, far from ending two marriage and starting three serially, he ran them in parallel. A kind way of saying his marriage vows meant little when presented with something he wanted. I'm no prude, but I just find that behavior distasteful and a real indicator of what makes someone tick.
This decision isn't easy as both have many more policy transgressions than I care to see. So that's why his infidelity is tipping the scales for me as an indicator of his truthfulness. I supported Cain and was furious with him when he pulled the same stunt. My first choice was Pawlenty... the first guy to throw in the towel...
poorly thought out????? Nah, it was a shallow attempt to preempt for the general election, the liberals 'occupy wall street' show.
Who is this 'their' positions? Actually it is quite stunning for any conservative candidate to be promoting their candidacy as the 'ends justify the means'.

Could you explain that further? He was equating Govt Motors and the cost cutting they did with general business cost cutting such as what happened at Bain.
Maybe we are seeing two different videos?
That's his prerogative, and I'll respect it if that's what he wants, though I disagree.
I don't think I was misled, easily or otherwise.
I'll gladly respect anything Jim wishes. I'm not sure, though, what constitutes "pimping".
I do think that Romney would be infinitely preferable to Obama. So I'd vote for him. I also think Newt can't get the independents he needs to win.
I guess its not safe to elaborate, or the kittehs will come for me. For the record, I don't think my opinions make me a troll, a leftist, or a bad person.
Sadly, you're not alone here in making that kind of remark.
Disagree with Ann Coulter all you like. I often do, though not in this case.
Hurling ugly personal insults at people you disagree with is expected at Democratic Underground. We should be better than that.
I think the liberals plot for having 'occupy wall street' was done to activate a national uprising against the supposed 'evil' rich Republicans, namely Romney. As long as I have been watching the political games, liberals always accused that 'corporate' welfare is how Republicans get rich.
I think rather than Romney refute them, he attempted to liken his personal gains as same as Obama using US taxpayers to bail out the auto industry. My objection is that by using this analogy, Romney ignores that what Obama did was not conservative. Notice I have not uttered any negative about Romney's stored up wealth, but that he can hardly get his undies in a wad if any conservative questions his business practices. Because he himself has already questioned his own business practices. We the people, 'government', have NO business bailing out private businesses, else it is NOT free enterprise.
I think Romley wants to get up in there to finish the job of destroying traditional marriage so he and his LDS friends can go back to openly “living the principle.”
Wanna know how a woman disappears?
She turns 50.
There was a guy on Wheel of Fortune last night from MA named Mike. When Pat asked him if he was married, he said: “Yes, for 7 years to my wonderful HUSBAND Jerrod”.
None of what you say is true. None of it. You are either ignorant or malicious. Which is it?

I agree, but that wasn't alluded to in the Hill piece at all.

I think he used an awful analogy in comparing the turn-around efforts of venture capitalists to the stinker known as Govt Motors. However inept of an analogy it might be, it in no way measures up to the "Vulture Capitalist" rhetoric of Newt. Perhaps he can leave that particular TR tendency in the past.
Late to the party but I’m glad to see FR finally bailing on this obvious RINO Tranny Mann Coulter.
I’ve never understood the attraction some people (even FReepers!!) had for this repulsive, underweight, chain-smoking likely-lesbian.
And now the skank opens her mouth and removes all doubt that she’s an establishment-loving RINO B!TCH!!
Good riddance!!
