I didn't see this posted.

It looks like Santorum is playing spoiler because evangelicals want social issues to be the top priority.

So these would be the hypocrites amongst evangelicals ? Wouldn't good Christians accept Newt's repentance ?

Would not be surprised if it was a Romney front.

This disinformation campaign benefits who, precisely? Willard. The Romney campaign is known for its dirty tricks, e.g. leaking rumors of endorsements that never happen.

Rick I love but I swear by the power of Zues, you are wasting good money and dividing the conservative agenda.

Please do the right thing and support Newt.

You absolutely will not get anywhere near close to a nomination.

Iowa was an aberration on so many fronts.

Please do the right thing.

“They [the GOP leaders in DC] are really nervous about Gingrich and they think he’d be a disaster. The best way to shut him down is to prop up Rick.”

Total Mis-Direction.

If the GOP Leaders are involved in this effort, it's not about the Social Issues, it is about Limited Government.

Same game plan that GWB used, play the Social conservatives against the Limited Government conservatives.

Won't work this time, we have coalesced in the Tea Party.

yeah..split the vote and you get Romney...and social issues are down the tube. Think folks...

If he’s a genuine conservative, Rick will leave the race and not spoil it.

I have been very much against former Speaker Gingrich before now, for some of the same reasons. I had hoped that Santorum would have gained this sort of momentum, and not Newt. I was wrong about his ability to win; the sheer dominance of his win in a state that I thought would be his undoing has proven that. It is time for the former Senator to step aside. South Carolina was the last chance for what I thought a better candidate to take the prize.

I feared that Newt could not win either the primary, or the general election. He has proven me wrong once. If he keeps his promises, I believe now he can prove me wrong on the general as well. In any case, he is better than Obama or Obama lite. I have to apologize to everyone on the board for not believing, and for running him down in hopes that a better would take his place. There is no chance for that. Indeed, after South Carolina, I never expected there would be.

I suppose I will sit back and eat crow for awhile.

LOL, they're not afraid Newt will lose against Obama, they're afraid he'll win. Change is coming, RINOs...

http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/285680/newtzilla-rescue-jonah-goldberg

‘How do we stop Newt?”

I’ve now been asked that question by a lot of conservatives. It’s not that I’m the go-to guy for that sort of question. Rather, one gets the sense that many “establishment” conservatives are asking everybody that question — in staff meetings, at the chiropodist, even at the McDonald’s drive-thru. (“I’ll have two happy meals, two chocolate milks, and — by the way — do you have any idea how to stop Newt?”)

The other night while having drinks with some prominent conservatives, I said I thought there was a significant chance that Gingrich will not only win the nomination but that he might be the next president. Going by their expressions, I might as well have said I had put a slow-acting poison in their cocktails.

The stop-Newters have no doubts about how smart Gingrich is.

As to whether he can beat Obama, opinions vary. But many feel that a Gingrich victory might be scarier than a GOP defeat. Gingrich’s defenders say such fear is a compliment because it shows that he’s a “change agent” threatening the status quo.

They have a point. Inside D.C., it sounds very strange to say that Gingrich is an “outsider.” Gingrich has eaten from just about every trough imaginable inside the Beltway. And yet, he’s always been very clear that he wants to (“fundamentally,” “historically,” “categorically,” and “radically”) overturn the existing order. Some critics always thought, plausibly, that such pronouncements were part of his act or a sign of his megalomania.

But there’s another possibility: It’s true. Moreover, the times may be ripe for precisely the sort of vexing, vainglorious, and all-too-human revolutionary Gingrich claims to be.

Gingrich, after all, is the only candidate to actually move the government rightward. While getting wealthy off the old order, he’s been plotting for decades how to get rid of it. To paraphrase Lenin, perhaps the K Streeters paid Gingrich to build the gallows he will hang them on?

“If Newt wins, we won’t be able to make family values an issue in the general.”

That is absolutely SILLY.

Following this “logic,” no sinner will be able to make sin an issue. Thus, no human will be able to make sin an issue.

Let’s talk about Santorum’s wife who lived with an abortion doctor -OUT OF WEDLOCK- before she was married.

What a bunch of loons.

Santorum the spoiler..yes..if he keeps newt from winning Florida, that is what he is and will ever be. He can not win Florida. Newt has the momentum to win and go forward.

The current socialist establishment want to drag out the process so they can hand select Romney at the convention, this is their plan. Be a true warrior Rick. Get out now and take the ring in a more conservative nation in 2016!

Santorum needs to barter his position with Newt, asap. He needs to endorse him and urge his supporters to back Newt. This would give Newt a clear edge in Florida in the way that Governor Perry stood strong for this nation and made the right choice.

I like Santorum. He has a great future as a conservative and can turn it into a tremendous advantage for all Americans if he does the right thing now and help us defeat the GOP RINO elite...

While I like Santorum I have to say he is beginning to wear a little thin. I don’t have a problem with him staying in but I believe he reached his zenith after Iowa and is pretty well toast at this point!

“They [the GOP leaders in DC] are really nervous about Gingrich...

I really couldn't care what the GOP leaders in DC think. They seem to be part of the problem. And as for 'Evangelical' leaders; if they can't be named why should we believe them? It sounds like the infamous 'they'. Of course the DC elite want Gingrich out; how can their boy Romney win if Gingrich wins the debates?

I am sorry but Jesus Christ is not on the ballot. This country is at the brink of distruction. We have a leader that has asked for forgiveness and is willing to lead this GOD given country out of the pit that Obama has created.

GO NEWT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So, the GOP moderates are trying to turn evangelicals against Gingrich -— to what end?

To support Romney, of course!

I don’t think Santorum will keep going very long. A poor showing in Florida and others will force him to suspend his campaign evenutally.

This shows the desperation of the moderate GOP establishment.

This looks like wishful thinking on the part of Erick Erickson at RedState.

Is is just me or has RedState become a lot more liberal ala Fox News?

..yes, you must support a candidate with an impeccable record on marital fidelity, like McCain--no wait

It really bothers me when one, two or a dozen attempt to speak for and represent evangelicals--it's like herding cats BTW

This Baptist and I believe many many other evangelicals can see the big picture and are not compromising principles by supporting someone who gives us most of what we want in a candidate...
