SummaryIn 2009, Congressman Gingrich supported a candidate for a special election for the 23rd district in New York that was pro-choice, pro gay marriage and supportive of numerous other items that most Republicans opposes. A more conservative candidate was available, but did not win a primary that consisted of a vote by 11 district members and not a public vote.
Congressman Gingrich came out in suppport for Mrs Scozzafava as she was the selected candidate for the Republican party. He asserted that many of her principles were in line with the Republican party. He appeared on numerous radio shows to defend his support for her.
As the special election neared, Mrs Scozzafava was trailing the Conservative Party candidate Hoffman. She dropped out of the race to prevent from splitting the vote, but threw her support behind the Democrat instead of the Conservative.
After the election, Congressman Gingrich stated that the Scozzafava candidacy was indeed a mistake that never should have happened.
The special election for the 23rd Congressional District is an important test leading up to the mid-term 2010 elections. Our best chance to put responsible and principled leaders in Washington starts here, with Dede Scozzafava.
The Republican Revolution in 1994 started very much like what we see today. Like then, our country is reeling from misguided liberal policies, high taxes and out-of-control spending. This special election in New Yorks 23rd Congressional District could be the first
... more election of the new Republican Revolution, but we need the momentum to get it started
Book Signing
Congressman Gingrich was confronted at a book signing concerning his support for Dede Scozzafava.
He responded by noting that she was the nominee picked by the local representatives, and that she supported a number of conservative ideals and principles.
Newt Gingrich vs his book "To Try Men's Souls"
Both Laura Ingraham and Hannity interviews on this happening was pulled by them.
Zevonismymuse was another. Flag Lady 47 swore that she wasn't Mormon but she sure quacked like a duck.
AnOTHER MORMONism thread??
It appears that being MORMON is really bad for a CONSERVATIVE's health!
It blinds them into overlooking a FALSE conservative's BAGGAGE; just like they ignore their FALSE church's BAGGAGE.
Now it appears that I will have more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't expect the members of a cult to act any different than their dear reader.

Mitt Romney is the creator of Obamacare by way of ROmneycare.
Mitt is also for homosexual marriage, he did alot in Massachussetts to create that abomination.
He’s also for banning guns.
cannot support Romney as he is a liberal, not a conservative.
I know you from the old Dimensional Doors thread series, and appreciated your humor when you wandered through there.
I hate to see you go out like this over Mitt.
That video is hilarious. I showed it around to everyone in the family and they all got a kick out of it.

“Surviving Civil War II” http://www.futurnamics.com/civilwar.php
It goes into the ways a modern civil war would differ from CWI. It is still over slavery - debt bondage of our children to the welfare state.
Yep. Her rants always made me laugh. At least she admitted a lot of the crazy doctrines rather than lie for the Lord.
I’m wondering if this was suicide by zot since Sandy rode the lightning.
I often wondered if English was her second language.
She walked looked and quacked. She was LDS - I’d be the farm on it.
Zevon wasn’t LDS though was he/she?
