GREENVILLE, S.C. Mitt Romney made a quick, early stop at Tommys Ham House on Saturday morning, moving up his appearance to avoid overlapping with Newt Gingrich.
The two had accidentally double-booked the popular restaurant at 10:45 a.m. Gingrich had called ahead to let the restaurant know he was coming, while Romney initially had not.
-snip-
I have a question wheres Mitt? I thought he was going to stay and maybe wed have a little debate here this morning, he said as the crowd cheered and a few supporters made clucking chicken noises.

"Romney is just so screwed.""
I wouldn't crack open the champagne just yet -- its only one state, and Romney (Santorum too, for that matter) each have one as well.
This whole thing is far from over.

Blinking on the double-booking showed weakness on Romney’s part. That’s the underlying theme of his campaign: weakness.

Sour grapes, apples and oranges, comparing these 3 - SC matters. And Romney is so dead from the neck up - I JUST WONDER HOW HE REMAINS UPRIGHT WITHOUT A SPINE.
Hey do you think he actually thought in his alleged mind;
“OH SHIT! Newt’s outside! GET EVERYBODY OUT!”

I'd like to clarify, I'm NOT a Romney supporter.
I'm trying to keep a realistic attitude, is all.

How many States can Romney buy before the voters realize they have been suckered punched. Romney reminds me of that snake oil salesman King Obama. Sooner or later bells ring and Romney will be discovered.

“I’m trying to keep a realistic attitude, is all.”
Never understood how someone can be realistic about the future. Nice job, though. Manages to dampen enjoying a present triumph, create doubt and undermine the ensuing enthusiasm cloaked by the “realistic evaluation” of something else.
Welcome to FR.

Okay then. Newt is going all the way, carried to a sweeping victory on the wings of the angels. Happy?
The Truth is that there are 47 more states to go, and if things get ugly, would you put a brokered convention with a predetermined nominee (guess who) beneath the GOP elite?

The Voice of Reason.
It ain't even midway through the first quarter.
But an early TD will sure wind your stem.
They now know we can go deep.
And there's no substitute for momentum or perhaps inertia.
Newt is in motion, Romney is coming to rest.

"Which is something I doubt you can say."When the main clause is negative, the construction technically calls for the word 'that.' A lack of such a connector is not explicitely incorrect, although often frowned upon.

He still thinks he can minimize his exposure and sit on his political capital. That’s the old way of doing business—limit your exposure and say as little as possible—big mistake. He should have welcomed the chance to have a kitchen sink debate with Newt over ham and eggs. It would have made for great television, but he’s afraid he might be bested so he runs away.
