Gingrich could derail Romney in South Carolina
CBC News ^ | Jan 21, 2012 | By Mark Gollom

The winner of the South Carolina primary has gone on to be the Republican presidential nominee for 30 straight years — and that could be bad news for Mitt Romney, who suddenly finds himself in a real battle with Newt Gingrich in Saturday's vote.

Polls suggest support for the former House speaker has surged since his fiery performance in Thursday night's candidates' debate, giving him a slight lead over the former Massachusetts governor and a good chance of grabbing all 25 of the state’s delegates.

The two other candidates — former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum and Texas congressman Ron Paul — appear to have stalled in the polls and are not expected to have much of a showing

On Friday, the Romney camp was downplaying talk of victory, instead emphasizing that their candidate has performed beyond expectations in the conservative state where he finished a distant fourth four years ago. Nevertheless, a loss would come as a blow to Romney, who seemed to have great momentum following his victory in the New Hampshire primary.

I sure wish I knew how to post pics -- because if you take this guy, put a pair glasses and a funny little hat on him, he is Phineas T. Bluster of Howdy Doody Show fame. If someone can put the pic you posted next to a pic of Mr. Bluster, the truth will finally be revealed.

Barack Sr. died in 1982. O’Reilly claimed on this show that we need not worry about the FACT that Obama’s SS# that begins with 042, issued in Connecticut in March or April of 1977 MUST have been issued when Obama visited his father on the East Coast. I don’t think his old man was even in the country then.

Even Bill O is covering for political access to The One.

No offense taken. We tell him that all the time.

I’m glad you aren’t offended, because I really didn’t mean to.

This thread is about Gingrich and Romney, I sure didn’t bring up Santorum. I’m sure you know all the arguments already as they have been repeated ad nauseum, you don’t really want an answer from me. I respect the decision of Santorum supporters to stick with him and will not trash his good name, but I have been in Newt’s camp since October and I intend to stick with him.

Newt supported HC mandates and global warming. How is he a better conservative than Santorum?

Santorum supported individual health insurance mandate

Above and beyond that, Santorum supported the much worse Perscription Drug Medicare Mandate.

It’s one thing for the liberal media to cow-tow to their man O, but the real disgusting thing is how our radio and talk show hosts have fallen down on conservatism and going all out for Mitt ROmney who helped GIVE US OBAMACARE. This should have disqualified him from the very beginning, but they all bought the insider CRAP TALK that Romney was the ONLY one who could beat OBUMMER. Now, my first Presidential election to ever vote in was 1980 and I remember how some in the media brought up that Ronald Reagan was UNELECTABLE BECAUSE HE HAD BEEN DIVORCED before Nancy Reagan married him. Does this sound familiar at all? However, Reagan overcame the “personal baggage” that the media tried to ram down our throats BECAUSE OF HIS ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE HIS HOPE FOR AMERICA AND GOALS OF MAKING AMERICA PROUD AGAIN! I firmly believe that Newt has the same abilities and yes, negatives that RR had and so, I am throwing my support behind him because I believe his record of The CONTRACT WITH AMERICA is proof of his ability to get the job DONE!

was homeschooled all of his life, and is an extremely successful college grad making a six figure income, is supporting him.

When you were homeschooling him, did you mention war, mooselimb murderers, the role of the military, and the fact that mooselimb fanatics won't quit because we do.

Did your son see the towers come down on 9-11 and believe rupaul that it's our fault?

If he's as smart as you claim, and not doing drugs {I'd have him tested} then he can be persuaded with logic, if not, I'd worry more about his personal habits that you might not know about.

How did a guy (Newt) who went from bashing Paul Ryan, dissing the Tea Party and canoodling with Pelosi, become “the conservative choice”. Please explain that. And as a Clinton-hater, how do you defend Newt’s adultery?

Conservative principles have been overridden by anti-Romney fervor.

Guess that means it wasn’t principles in the first place, merely “guidelines”...

Santorum supported healthcare mandates too. The links are in the live thread from the debate but I’m not going to go find them.

I haven’t been watching FNC much either, but did happen to watch some of O’Reilly’s program last night. He was defending Newt! He thought the ABC interview was a smear job and ahouldn’t have been run. He thinks Newt handled it masterfully. I think O’Reiily may be on team Newt.

Hmmmm tried to find some good pics of those glasses... no luck :/ The closest I could find were on some low quality pics of the puppet itself, and they weren’t good enough to rip from.... Will keep my eyes open though ;)
