This old woman doesn’t sympathize with the ex! She sounds like a bitter hateful woman who lost her meal ticket and social standing and ‘somebody is finally going to pay.’ I would never trust Newt but then I don’t plan on marrying him. I do think however that he will be one of the most intelligent and free thinking presidents we’ve ever had.He will need to stick to the agenda of reducing government and all the other platforms he is running on and that is why there are advisors.

Very well said, from "this old man". It's always going to be a choice of lesser of evils when both men and women engage in politics at the presidental level. There is so much intentional misinformation from all sides, us voters usually end up watching a circle of candidates in a lion's den full of lions all shooting at each other instead of banding together to protect the group.

I’m disappointed that this bitter woman would put her own anger ahead of the country’s interests. I’m disgusted that the media would put a decades-old story on the air two days before a critical primary election in order to manipulate the voting. I will pray for Marianne to let go of her bitterness and move on with her life. Sympathy? Marianne was “the other woman” in Newt’s first marriage; it’s hard to fell sympathy when she’s still bitter about the next “other woman” twenty years later. Sympathy for the first wife? Not when she was a pretty teacher marrying a newly-graduated former student. It looks to me like Newt stepped into something few teenage boys could resist and needed time to grow up afterward. I don’t admire his actions, but I believe in forgiveness and in repentance, and I hope and pray that his conversion is sincere and that he is now ready for a productive life that uses his exceptional talents.

I envisioned a controlling, manipulative, jealous, woman who saw the career goals of her husband as threatening her needy, clingy, low self esteem existence and deluded security at risk. She tries to claim Newt was looking for an open marriage when in reality he was saying Colista (sp?) supported his ambitions rather than see them as a threat. My wife and I agreed that his ex was the type to see ambition as a threat and had to make up a story that helped her deny her low self esteem.

To put it a bit differently, Rashid Khalidi, who in 2008 worried that because of American politics Obama had to appear to be a supporter of Israel, now believes that Obama’s promise to move U.S. policy towards the Palestinian perspective is coming true.
