This is good for the debate tonight, in that it will mean more time for Newt to demonstrate why he can and should be the one to take on Obama.

If you can't win lose with class. And Perry is showing real class at the moment.

Now the bigger question is in an ideal world where would Perry do the most good. In a Gingrich administration or back in Texas taking care of traditional America's last bulwark. The VP slot has been traditionally described as being worth a bucket of warm spit. Unless we have someone spectacular on the bench in Texas it seems a waste to move Perry there just to polish him for a later run.

If proven true, this comes at a critical time for Newt. He’s gaining momentum and that momentum could be stopped by his ex-wife’s interview. Bringing up all the reasons we have reservations about him. This could overshadow that, plus give Newt that much more time to shine in the upcoming debate tonight. Only four left, lots of TV time for Newt but I doubt he can top his debate performance on Monday. In fact, I don’t know that anyone could ever top that debate performance. It may have even been better than Reagan in his Mondale debate.

4.5%, supporters, odds are they will split the same as the current polling. That is just the way it is.

This is great.

If Newt has another debate performance, tonight, like he did Monday, he’ll knock Romney off of his high horse on Saturday.

They must be filling up the toilets at RNC headquarters.

One thing I know is this:

The Best Man won’t win.

Never understood why people didn’t vote for Rick Perry.

That being said, it’s kind of a relief because I didn’t want him to finish last in South Carolina and it was looking that way.

I do hope he endorses Newt Gingrich.

I can’t stand that prissy little Santorum and...

well, forgive me, free republic, for I have sinned.

I got on the Newt woman trouble thread and had a little fun with it and I shouldn’t have.

This is an outrageous attempt to derail Newt. He was very dignified and excellent in his response this morning. I don’t think it will hurt him.

I am so glad that Rick Perry is endorsing Newt.

The best man won’t win, but a good man will.

Newt can thank Sara for breathing new life into this campaign.

I have mixed feelings about this. I like Perry. I think he’s the ONLY outsider in the race and this just eliminates that.

Perry and Newt have been talking for a couple of weeks about this..so says FOX NEWS.

My question is..what if the story tonight is not just about women? What if it is about the Israelis, arms and money? What if that story comes to life and knocks Newt to his knees?

What if Newt’s alter ego shows up and cancels him out?

To me..with Perry out..this is dicey. If Newt crashes now, conservatives are really in trouble.

Again..I hate to see Perry get out..I would have chosen one of the other two to drop out before him.

Everyone can relax. Newt wouldn't pick another southerner to be his veep. Geography, along with states' electoral vote count, plays the major part in any veep selection.

Our handsome Texas governor is an honorable man and a great Conservative- twice that of RINO voting Santorum.

It’s time for Santorum to put his country before himself and drop out.

Perry is a class act- I just wish he’d wait til tomorrow to endorse Newt, take the ABC ex-wifey hit piece out of the headlines.

Anyway, his endorsement will help Newt- esp with money.
