This will probably be the biggest news of the morning. Millions have wondered who Governor Palin would actually support. Shes making it crystal clear now.
On Fox News, Sarah Palin says if she lived in South Carolina shed vote for Newt.
The next big question is whether Governor Perry decides to depart the race before or after Saturday. And if he departs, will he endorse Newt Gingrich, who wrote the introduction to Governor Perrys book Fed Up!
With Palins endorsement, Rick Perry is now in a terribly awkward spot. If he departs before Saturday, he could be a hero for one of the non-Romney candidates. If he waits until Sunday and the race is close, as it appears to be, Rick Perry will rightly be remembered as the spoiler who handed Mitt Romney the nomination.
If Rick Perry and Sarah Palin both throw their lot behind Newt Gingrich, well, the Republican nomination might actually turn into a race instead of a coronation.
And I agree 100%. Keep it going. Vote for Newt!!
Sorry to disappoint you....but that sounds like a smear to me!
Your words leaves the suggestion out here on FR and belies the hard work of Senator Santorum as the anti-Romney and the true conservative.
If you don't want to call it a smear....what do you want to call it?
How do you think folks would feel ...here....if you or someone would say...
'Sarah is just waiting in the wings to be Romney's VP'......
..many would consider those fighting words, and rightly so.
So please tell me, if your post is not a smear......what is it?
A thoughtful posit about the guy who talked us into trusting Arlen Specter. Santorums judgement is not always the best.
If I were in South Carolina I'd vote for Newt! Dead or alive. |

If you want off my ... ZOT!
“Gov. Palin said she conditionally would vote for
Speaker Gingrich.”
ONLY in SC, because she wants the vetting to continue. Palin hasn’t endorsed anybody yet.
Actually Sarah didn’t endorse. Erickson has it wrong. imo, Sarah likes Newt, Rick and Rick, and will see which of those guys stick.
Hannity said that Palin wants the vetting to continue, so I did a search so I could post an excerpt with link about Sarah:
“Sarah Palin: If I lived in S.C. Id vote for Newt
The Right Scoop on Jan 17, 2012
Sarah Palin says she wants to see the vetting continue and because of that she would vote for Newt in South Carolina this weekend. Im not sure if her focus is Newt getting vetted more or that he is the best to vet Romney
snip
UPDATE: It just dawned on me why Palin said shed vote for Newt last night, and its simply because if Romney wins it will be demoralizing for the party and others may jump out feeling like Romney is a shoe-in. Thats certainly what the pundits will say. But if Newt wins it proves this election is still wide open and thus it all continues.”

Palin is an intellectual.
For instance Sen. Grahamnesty said on one of the Sunday talk shows that Romney could be the first candidate ever to win the first three primaries, and he implied then it would be over. That’s how the GOP establishment thinks, and Sarah Palin knows this.
For one thing, Romney might not have won Iowa (they are still counting), and in liberal NH, only less than half of the voters were Republican, and after Newt received a standing ovation, he might win SC.
IF that happens, Santorum, Romney and Newt would each have won one, so there would go Sen. Graham’s theory.
But, of course, we still don’t know who will take SC, so I better not guess at this point in time either. Time will tell.
He also calls Newt a Progressive.
I care what you think.....I also care what James Dobson, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin think.....
Out of this group, it looks like 2 for 2 on either side---you & Sarah inching toward Gingrich.....Dobson and Beck fully for Santorum--(even though you have had nice things to say about Santorum)
... I'm sold out for Santorum.
God bless you.
I'm in favor of keeping the primary process alive. I have no interest in Romney having a coronation in SC, which is how the MSM would frame it if he won.
If Rick Perry and Sarah Palin both throw their lot behind Newt Gingrich, well, the Republican nomination might actually turn into a race instead of a coronation. I'll pray for that! |
..and heard him countless times alert us to 'Progressives' and how dangerous they are.
Beck...even today on his radio program....calls Gingrich a Progressive
Beck said he would vote for Santorum.
It’s fantastic that you’re able to vote for Newt in the South Carolina primary. Palin can’t. She’s registered to vote in Alaska.
Yeah...but Beck would vote for Romney over Newt. That’s what it really comes down to.
From another poster from FR (see below)... Also, it is very obvious when you listen to Beck. “Sheeesh”!
You know, I lurked here for three years before I signed up to post; I always used to enjoy the Beck TV show thread, and I signed up for GBTV when it came out. I used to see folks here saying Beck would eventually pimp Romney, and I didnt believe it. But they were right. I emailed Beck about it, and Paty Gray sent me a snarky response about my problems with Romney, saying he is a better candidate than Newt. I cancelled GBTV; I dont want my money going to support such nonsense.
Bottom line: Based on general strategy, I believe Gingrich is the man to vote for in SC.
And when it comes to looking for leadership from prominent figures, I trust Palin far more than I trust any talk radio host.
Classy move on Perry’s part.
Now will Santorum display the same?
Tonight’s debate should seal the deal...
LOL
How did you catch that candid shot of Perry supporters the day before he withdrew?
I'm a Beck fan too, but in this instance I believe Beck is stumbling over vocabulary where he and Newt are using the same terms, but each has different definitions for those terms.
Beck is so focused on the "progressive" and "wilsonian" labels, he can't acknowledge Newt's clearly historic accomplishments or obviously brilliant ideas.
Will Newt flirt with the left? Sure, but he hasn't ever actually screwed us on the right with those flirtations, either.
