I remember seeing an old, make that very old advertisement from Savage. It was for their .32 auto which held 10 shots. It showed a cowboy holding the little .32 being attacked by an alligator.

It said “Ten Shots Quick” or maybe it was “Ten Shots Fast”.

America's gun?

Gaston Glock isn't a 'merkun. John Moses Browning was.

Not everyone can afford a Glock, even a used one, but almost everbody can scrounge up $100 for a Hi-Point C9.

I'm looking to pick up a couple of new toys. Glocks sure have a huge fan-base so they must be good. But I really like the looks of the XDm

Also looking for a Mossberg 12g 18"..

Won’t own a Glock for several reasons. 1) I’ll take well-made over loose tolerances. 2) When firing, it looks like a brick with sights on it. 3) The only safety on the gun is the trigger.

It would be great to see them create a limited production run .50 caliber pistol and call it the Glock 50.

Then again, in California, at best, 10 rounds in 5 seconds... that is unless you can eject and reload a new clip in Superman speed. Clips here are limited to 10 rounds! Thank our left wing moron government!

Well to just add to the mix, my favorite pistol to date is my first generation Walther P99 .40sw. Much nicer than the Glock IMHO.

They make it sound like no one has ever hit a target that much that fast. Glock was the late comer to the scene.

The writer is a complete idiot. He couldn’t find “down” if he dropped a hat.

Desert Sportsman is on the opposite side of the Las Vegas valley from Boulder City, maybe 30 miles away.

Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club is in Boulder City, NV.

Hot puppydogs! A caliber holy war thread! Haven't seen one in awhile.

Fact 1 - .45 ACP shooters are antiquated fossils in Depends whose pieces are chiefly useful for beating the target to death once they've missed him 7 times.

Fact 2 - 9mm shooters are all gay and are using the extended magazines out of a sense of...well, you know, "inadequacy".

Fact 3 - people who shoot revolvers of any kind are simply too dumb to operate a semiauto. Two hands, too tough.

The only carry piece worthy of a real man like me is my 11mm Remington magnum automatic Derringer chambered for .416 Rigby. With other guys it's one shot, one kill. All I have to do is look at a perp with this baby and he and his buddies and his brother-in-law who isn't even there fall dead because they know they might as well. I shoot down satellites with it if I can find somebody to hold the mirror.

This thread ought to be good for 1000 posts after this one. You're welcome.

I’ll stick with my S&W 686+ or Model 29. I enjoy shooting them. In a bad spot, I want a gun I’ve enjoyed shooting enough to do a lot of it...

BTW - the one time I’ve pulled a gun - many years ago - it was a S&W Kit Gun - 6 shots of 22 LR. The guys who had been moving to surround me stopped...dunno if they realized it was ‘just’ a 22 or not. But with upwards of 10,000 rounds fired thru it, they’d have been damn foolish to press the issue.

It’s fast, reliable and offers a lot of stopping power, with three times the number of rounds as the old police favorite, the Smith & Wesson .38 revolver.

It's the shooter that is fast, not the gun.

Volume of fire is not the same as stopping power.

Just sayin'
