Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk is running as a Democrat against Republican Gov. Scott Walker.
She made her announcement today in an online video posted to her website and in an email message to supporters.
Falk says in the message that the 1 million signatures submitted Tuesday to recall Walker was an unprecedented and inspiring show of solidarity and determination.
Falk says she will make different choices than Walker on focus on creating good-paying jobs, a clean environment, successful schools and affordable health care.
Friends of Scott Walker reacted to Falk's candidacy shortly after she declared.
"Kathleen Falk's announcement today comes as no surprise, as we have long anticipated she would be the nominee hand-picked by big-government, public employee union bosses," said Ciara Matthews, communication director for Friends of Scott Walker. "Falk has already lost two statewide elections, failing to earn the trust of Wisconsin voters. Governor Walker's record of success and progress will stand in stark contrast to Falks intent to take Wisconsin back to the days of record job loss, massive deficits, and double digit tax increases. Falk's record as Dane County executive falls in lockstep with a Madison liberal ideology that is far outside the mainstream of the majority of Wisconsinites."
Falk is the second Democrat to announce they would challenge Walker. State Sen. Tim Cullen of Janesville is also running.
A number of other Democrats are considering getting into the race but havent made a decision.

Wisconsin Kathleen Falk Candidate Ping
If you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list just FReep mail me.
Screw it. Go Galt on Wisconsin. Let them have their filthy mess.
Stop trying to save it and evacuate all the productive souls.
We need a Greece to show the way for the rest of the recoverable states.
I hope she spends the unions money like Nancy Piglosi spends ours.
Sheboygan Sheboygan Sheboygan.......nothing.......just like saying it.......Sheboygan
Once a good percentage of them turn out to be fraudulent, I don't imagine the newspaper will break out as large a typeface. May even get buried in the second section somewhere.

Kathleen Falk
US Census results for Wisconsin show the population is 5.6 million. Ms Falk's statement would lead us to believe that one sixth of the state's population (which includes nonvoting children) have signed a recall petition.
I call BS.
I will create good-paying Government Union Jobs, A clean Business Unfreindly envirnoment with the Help of the EPA, I will make successful propagandizing Government Schools and support Un- affordable ObamaCare.
/Sarcasm OFF
The whole recall thing is BS, the number of signatures beyond ludicrous, but this is the left, and they know it won't be reported, and that telling the truth has nothing to do with anything in leftist political maneuverings.
PRAY for Scott Walker.
Yes please.
She loses by double digits to both Barrett and Obey if there is a primary...and she’s the union pick :)
Translation: more unions, more government, more taxes, less freedom.
She looks nutty. Like JoAnn Kloppenburg...
Isn't that called California? Galt or not, the other States will end up paying for it.
Kathleen Falk.... yawn. In her little speech announcing that she will announce she said the lefties reacted to Gov. Walker’s Budget Repair Bill “not with anger.” Ha ha. What about the protesters at the State Capitol, the swearing at a 14-year-old girl giving an address, the constant harrassment of Gov. Walker at every event he attends, including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and at his home, the fleebagger senators skippinng out to Illinois, the vile names they’ve called Gov. Wallker, and much more? She also notes that she’s going to clean up the Walker messes like “tax breaks for corporations.” Well, Kathleen, who pays those corporate taxes? If you answered, “the consumer,” you are correct. Corporations pass on taxes as increased costs of doing businesses and the cost of their goods and services increase. And, Kathleen, noted the “attack on the rights of teachers.” What rights are those? Where does it say teachers have a right to collective bargaining, having taxpayers pay the boatload of health and retirment costs, the “right” to be forced to join a union against their wishes, and the “right” to tenure guaranteeing our school children will get a substandard education from a teacher who ought not be teaching but has union protection. Dream on Kathleen. Come off your liberal cloud and get back to reality.
What, the Falk?
