I really want Rick Santorum to be our nominee, but I think things are coalescing around Newt as the real deal to be the stop-Mitt choice.

If Rick did throw his support behind Newt, Gingrich would basically owe his nomination to Santorum.
That’s a hell of a bargaining chip when considering a running mate (see also: from quasi-swing state of PA).
