In one of the first endorsements for former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum following this weekend’s meeting of evangelical and social conservative leaders that had them supporting his campaign, the head of a pro-life women’s group has backed the GOP presidential hopeful.

Penny Nance, President and CEO of Concerned Women for America, issued an endorsement for Santorum in her personal capacity, not speaking on behalf of the organization that represents hundreds of thousands of pro-life women.

Phyllis Schlafly endorsed Michele Bachmann but wouldn’t be surprised to see her end up endorsing Santorum.

Those of us who value all human life—born and unborn, family and the Consititution will break for Santorum.

None of these things are truly important to Newt, Romney or Perry.

Not “truly important” to Newt?

Come ON — he has a 98% pro-life voting record!

Yes, Santorum has championed this issue for years. But it’s not the only issue.

I’ve fought the pro-life issue since the early 90’s, working in emergency pregnancy centers. It’s an issue that will be fought over for YEARS until Americans change their hearts once again towards the role of women in society.

Do I use it as a litmus when screening out candidates in the first round? You bet I do. But to parse what we have now with this — I think we’re being a bit short sighted.

I wanted to add — I don’t feel we have the luxury of focusing on candidates basely soley on this issue.

You get Obama for another four years, and you may not even have the chance to FREELY express your views on this subject. That’s how bad it is and how bad it could get.

I really urge you to vote for the candidate who can MOST ensure that Obama will not get another term, and that liberal senators and house members do not get more terms. We need this administration OUT.

Change in exactly what ways "towards the role of women in society"?

The bane of unborn children is the absolutist, take no prisoner "Prolifer," who will accept nothing less than perfection, thereby dooming untold unborn babies to prenatal death.

Your comment is unfair and untrue. You reflect badly on Santorum by saying lies about the others.

On another note, I read the story about Karen Santorum and I feel for her. This happened a very long time ago and both she and her husband have proven their commitment to the pro-life cause. If anyone tries to use this issue to beat down Santorum's commitment to the pro-life cause, they are making a mistake.

Exactly.

And what sort of damage will we have to the pro-life cause if Obama gets another 4 years? Perhaps some pro-lifers thrown in jail, unfairly prosecuted. Who knows. Combine Obama’s pro-death ethic with Obama care also ..and we will have death at both ends of the spectrum.

By supporting Santorum based on this one issue, they WILL throw the nomination to Romney — yet another wobbly pro-lifer who will do NOTHING to further the pro-life cause.

LIVE to fight the issue!!! Give Gingrich a conservative Senate and House and he’d sign every pro-life bill he’d get!! THINK, people!!!

What is allegedly being rejected by the pro-lifers you disdain?
