Limbaugh: Newt's Attacks May Be 'Good Move'
Newsmax ^ | 01/14/2012 | Newsmax wires

Top conservative talker Rush Limbaugh says Newt Gingrich may have made a "good move" by raising Mitt Romney's Bain dealings -- even if the criticisms had some mistakes. Limbaugh, on his show Friday, also noted that Gingrich's Bain attacks came after Romney allies spent millions of dollars in negative ads attacking Gingrich, which Gingrich has said included falsehoods or distortions of his record. Rush read Gingrich's statement asking his supporters that run Winning Our Future Super Pac to fix their video about Bain or pull it. Rush said: "Newt Gingrich released the following statement calling for truth and accuracy from campaigns and so-called 'Super-PACs' supporting candidates. 'The American people have a right to know the facts about the records of the men and women who are asking them for their vote. Governor Romney is running as someone who knows how to create jobs. In fact, he has claimed to have created 100,000 jobs while at Bain Capital. However, numerous analyses have said that figure is as inaccurate as President Obama's claim to have "saved or created" millions of jobs. Furthermore, Governor Romney's experience as a portfolio manager did not help him create an environment in Massachusetts that was friendly to job creation.'" Rush continued: "It goes on, but basically what Newt is saying here, what he announced today, "I am calling for the Winning Our Future Super-PAC supporting me to either edit its 'King of Bain' advertisement and movie to remove its inaccuracies, or to pull it off the air and off the internet entirely," and I am urging Romney to do the same. Wake UP call for Rush! Newt attempted to take the high ground and suggested the candidates attack Obama! it was Mittens and friends that started the mega millions smear attacks "So Newt is seeking the high ground. Newt says, (imitating Newt) 'Okay, I'll pull my lies out if Romney...' uh, sorry 'I'll pull our errors out.' I don't even think he's making it contingent on what Romney does. He's just saying he will do that. Gingrich is repudiating the things that are wrong in his super PAC ad, and now they're trying to put pressure on Romney to do the same thing. 'I am calling for the Winning Our Future Super-PAC supporting me to either edit its 'King of Bain' advertisement and movie to remove its inaccuracies, or to pull it off the air and off the internet entirely.'" I think it is.

Tea partiers are just dying to vote for somebody who will stand up and fight for what is right.

If nobody is willing to do that, we know the Republican candidate is going to get mauled by the Dems and the media.

So it’s definitely an asset that Newt will play just as mean. I have no problem with that.

60 percent of the population isn’t paying attention to the primary’s right now . And I live in California so my vote won’t count anyway, but as a God As My Witness, I will vote for any Republican candidate that represents us. No matter what. Our Country cannot survive another 4 years of Obama.

No way. You can hear Rush take both sides of the issue, that is how he can say he is right 98% of the time. If he claims to be a leader of the conservative right then he needs to take a stand for Newt next week. For the record, in my book he came out for Mitt last week and needs to correct it. He has made a ton of money off this movement, now it’s time to step up or out!

“You can hear Rush take both sides of the issue”

I know. I have had some red flags run up in my mind from listening to Rush in the last week or so. Usually he is pretty reliable and I wonder what happened to voting for the most conservative candidate.

I have not heard that statement from Rush in awhile. Sounds like he has been covering for Mitt for some reason. Bain Capitol owns Clear Channel so maybe there is a connection to Rush’s new found attitude. We shall see.

It didn’t even survive the first four. We will never be as free nor as safe as I was in my youth.

The country may have to go through birth pains again to restore even a fraction of what we pi$$ed off since Hoover.

Broadsides fired off one of our (former) battleships caused the ship itself to move sideways between 6 and 10 feet. If you were on deck, you’d think your chest was hit with a hammer, I’m told.

backpeddle Rush...you better

I am sick of hearing folks say an attack on one’s business ethics is an attack on capitalism

puke...

and he claims he gave away his inheritance like he got no help from daddy to get started

what utter rubbish...Levin has the scoop on that

I too inherited but unlike Romney I would never claim otherwise

I don’t care if your folks give you 1 million or 100 million

for seed money...it counts...bigtime

I know Romney Sr was a car exec, so I know he had money to help Romney Jr get started.

Rush will have to go much further to get me interested in him again.

What he did last week was deplorable.

RE: Tea partiers

Problem Jonty, is that Haley (openly) and Demint (tacitly) support Romney.. Today, DeMint said Romney was “unequivocally pro-life”. Newt is trying to play to the Tea Party, but some of the big name Tea Party types have caved in to The GOP Establishment.

Newt needs Sarah-she’s the only one who can rally the base against Romney. .

My dad got to see battleships firing for effect in WWII. He had landed in southern France with the 7th Army, and just off the beach a battleship was firing broadsides at some German gun emplacements. He told me that you could see the ship move when the guns fired.

The Germans guns were in Toulon harbor, and in fact had once been the armament of a French battleship. The French had scuttled their fleet but the Germans had managed to salvage the gun turrets and were using them as coast artillery. They fought a running duel with the US Navy for about a week before losing that battle.

Gator,

Rush did his damage—now he’s just talking both sides. Strange I don’t hear his normal mantra— we have to nominate a Reagan conservative because moderates lose.

I think he’s with Romney, and been there for a while.
