The unlikely hero in this tale has been Newt Gingrich, who has been making the most coherent argument for ethical capitalism. Says Gingrich, what we want is, “a free enterprise system that is honest. . . fair to everyone and gives everyone an equal opportunity to pursue happiness.” Criticizing Romney’s brand of free enterprise, (Newt)said, “It’s not fine if the person who is rich manipulates the system, gets away with all the cash and leaves behind the human beings.”

All this talk about “ethics” and whatnot is just crypto-Commie language for “slapping the shackles of socialism on business owners.”
Business owners have a moral duty to capitalism to pay their workers as little as they can and to cut as many corners in the production of their goods as possible, so as to maximise profits.
Anything less is just a bunch of commie lib redistributionism.

Not in my view. Limbaugh has always had a blind spot on this issue. We all admire Rush because he lived the Amerian Dream— going from nothing to icon— and none of us envy the money he makes. He earned it. He didn’t buy off DC politicians, or use insiders to destroy competitors- or use undue influence to maintain his preeminence.
But, Rush just doesn’t seem to be able to grasp that the DC crowd, the Estblishment, have lived the Dream- and now are pulling up the draw bridge behindd them. McCain, Bush, Romney, et al- and the GOP elite- they’ve made there fortunes- they have power— and all they want to do is keep it. If the rest of us have to live in socialism— they don’t give a damn.
You sound like one of those crazy bible thumping religious fanatics who think that business owners should be hobbled by junk like paying their workers a "fair wage." A "fair wage" is however little the business owner can pay you and still get your lazy non-business owning rear end to show up. If you were worth anything, you own the business instead of working for it.

Well, it may be Bible-thumping, but even thousands of years ago, in both Judaism and then in Christianity, employers were being urged to pay their employees an honest wage. What’s wrong with that?
But this has nothing to do with “fairness,” which now means that the government or some superior force has got to come in and equalize results. Most people don’t want to be the head of the company; it’s a lot of work, and most people just want to do their jobs and go home to their families. But the person who is the head of the company could not be the head of the company without them, and in fact there wouldn’t even be a company without them. Therefore he has the obligation to compensate them accordingly, which has nothing to do with fairness but is a simple matter of paying for a service.
When employers want to get the service without paying for it, or by taking so much for themselves that there is nothing left to pay the people who do the work, we have broken the social contract. That was what led to the rise of unions.
