Obama czar proposed government should ‘infiltrate’ social network sites, chat rooms, message boards.

Just prior to his appointment as President Obamas so-called regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein wrote a lengthy academic paper suggesting the government should infiltrate social network websites, chat rooms and message boards.
Such cognitive infiltration, Sunstein argued, should be used to enforce a U.S. government ban on conspiracy theorizing.
Among the beliefs Sunstein classified as a conspiracy theory is advocating that the theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud.
The find comes as a government document reportedly relates the U.S. Department of Homeland Securitys command center routinely monitors dozens of popular websites, including Facebook, Twitter, Hulu, WikiLeaks and news sites including the Huffington Post and Drudge Report.
Reuters reported that a privacy compliance review issued by DHS last November confirms that since at least June 2010, the departments national operations center has been operating a Social Networking/Media Capability which involves regular monitoring of publicly available online forums, blogs, public websites and message boards.
The government document states such monitoring is meant to collect information used in providing situational awareness and establishing a common operating picture to help manage national or international emergency events.
While the DHS may be monitoring websites for security reasons, Sunstein advocated such actions with another goal in mind.

Doesn’t stop them from trying. Lots of crypto-Mittbots around here coming out of the woodwork lately carrying water for Romney.

1) Internet ID's for all users
2) Infiltration of websites for "subversives" who dare to question the administration
3) NDAA -- which allows incarceration without due process for threats to the administrationWell how else is FEDGOV™ going to protect us from scary Muslim terrorists.

I was sort of thinking the same thing, except the humor continues even further. Kleins article is a theory about a conspiracy prompted by an article about conspiracy theories that projects a conspiracy theory.Hahaha. :)
Its like holding a mirror up in front of a mirror and seing the image replicate infinitely.
Woo, infinite regression.

And of course it didn’t get any media attention since most people would say what I said. Got to love the LSM. A terrorist gets a little water, nightly news for a year. Gov takes kids, crickets.

Social networking involves myriad political and social ideologies, and there would be absolutely no quicker way for this failure of an administration to isolate themselves than to start shutting down the sites that Internet-addicted teens and twenty-somethings use minute-by-minute.You're missing something here - they're not after 'social networking sites' - they're after people who disagree with the Liberal Establishment. They're totalitarians. The modern day equivalent of the SS - - the petty dictator's 'secret police' ...
You can smell the stench of power hungry bullies waiting to ask YOU for your papers. These assholes all use the same techniques - it starts with thought crimes. And gets worse. Much worse.
George Orwell would know these folks. And Orwell would know what's coming next.

"..You would be foolish to think this isnt going on now..." How true. This is just like the iceberg theory. 10%up and 90%hidden. If its making noise in the media today, that means that this has been going on for years and years.

Look what they did to Joe the Plumber for asking a simple question of the Messiah. You don’t DO that to Messiahs, apparently, in a police state. Sheesh, this is getting worse by the HOUR in America.

The 1996 crash of TWA flight 800 was caused by a U.S. military missile.Wrong. It was a Muslim terror attack from a small craft offshore of the airport. The plane was a random target.
