God bless the young man. The intruder needed killin'. I salute the parents who raised this young man and taught him how to use a firearm to defend his home and sister.

The comments on the article are so supportive of the young man that the Daily Mail posted "We are no longer accepting comments on this article."

Is it just me, but why do stories like this get published by UK papers and websites and not in the United States where the events actually happen?

The boy probably saved the girl from being gang raped at the least.

At the worst, it could have been another Knoxville race hate slaughter like the Newsom/Christian case:

Five animals car-jacked a white couple.They raped Christopher Newsom, cut off his penis, then set him on fire and fatally shot him several times while they forced his girlfriend, Channon Christian, to watch. An even more cruel fate awaited her.
Channon Christian, was beaten and gang-raped in many ways for four days by all of them, while they took turns urinating on her. Then they cut off her breast and poured clorox in her mouth ... and then murdered her. Her body was found in pieces in garbage bags.

It was found that this was not a ‘hate crime’ by the authorities. In fact, it was covered up by the media and only became known through the internet.
None of the animals responsible for this heinous crime got the death penalty.
