WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is asking Congress for another $1.2 trillion increase in the nation’s debt limit.
The request is largely a formality. It’s the third and final request the president is allowed under a deal the White House and lawmakers reached in August to prevent a government default.
But Republicans are likely to use the election-year request as an opportunity to criticize the president’s spending policies.
Congress has 15 days to reject the president’s request. The White House says Obama would veto any objections in order to avoid a default.
Obama originally planned to make this request in late December. But with Congress on vacation until mid-January, lawmakers asked Obama to delay his request so they could vote on the matter when they return.

Which of course is another Obama lie. Default would only occur if interest payments are not met, which would easily be doable given FedGov's gigantic revenue stream.
Of course, it would also call for REAL spending cuts. Which we all know won't happen either under Zero or his RINO enablers.

Boehner came out with some milque toast BS comment about Obama wasting money but you can believe he will make sure Barry gets his $1.2 trillion. No problemo.
Republicans will criticize it and give him 1.199 trillion instead.

1st: Being drunk means spending money, which pay wages for all the folks that make, transport, and sell the booze that gets me toasted. Sounds like capitalism to me.....
2nd: My sisters provide a much needed service to the county. They get the money from those filthy rich and then shop for new clothes, dine at restaurants, rent rooms, and watch a few movies. Again, sounds like capitalism to me.
3rd: Just having fun and pulling your chain.
