The U.S. Marine Corps is investigating a video that surfaced online today in which several Marines appear to urinate on the corpses of suspected Taliban fighters.
The video, which is less than a minute long, appears to show four men in uniform looking around before urinating on three dead bodies, at least one of the men chuckles as they do so.
"Have a great day, buddy," one of the men is heard saying, apparently to a dead body

Marines are human. This isn't some academic exercise, it is real war. If you think the Marines fought the Japanese in the Pacific showing some great respect for Japanese bodies, you are sadly mistaken. And I can tell you from firsthand experience in Vietnam, that was not the case. When someone is trying to kill you and your buddies, you could care less about how their corpses are treated.
From what I heard Benny was porked before he was fed to the sharks. You know those frozen hotdogs? Supposedly two of those ended up in a couple of his orifices. That and the pint of blood detonated after the carrier was down the road so to speak, ensured that Benny was recycled appropriately.
GO NAVY. I knew I could count on them.
I love the Navy except when they play the Army in football.
They shouldn’t even get a scolding. They are fighting a war, but they have orders not to fire until fired upon. That plus the nature of the enemy leads to stuff like pissing on corpses.

As I said in a earlier post, thank GOD cameras were not around much when I was in. Any combat veteran can tell stories that would make your hair stand up. It's just the way it is. . . . . . . . . .

I had the honor of serving with a Marine hero, Sgt. Lew Hirschman. He served in China with the 4th Marines and another Marine legend, Lou Diamond. Lew was told to march several Japanese POWs captured in one of many battles he was in. He marched them out of sight and promptly shot them. An officer threatened to have him court-martialed and Lew told him bluntly: “Payback for the Maryland”. Lew had lost several friends on the USS Maryland at Pearl Harbor.
Maybe this was unnecessary, but walk a mile in their shoes before criticizing.

Somehow, after 9-11, the beheadings, dragging of American troops’ bodies through the streets, hanging of charred bodies from bridges, suicide bombs that kill indiscriminately, and targeting of churches and schools by muslims...
... I’m having a hard time dredging up a reason to feel bad about this.
If Bush were still President, ABC would go to the ends of the earth to get that video out for all to see.
Which is worse, what the Marines did or what the Media is doing NOW? Keep these pictures going viral so as to incite the enemy. Nice going, now who’s the enemy again?????
I think those Taliban were stung by jellyfish and needed assistance.
The most difficult thing for combat leaders to do is to get civilized young men to kill people.
The second hardest thing to do is to get them to stop.
I have no problem with it.
My opinion is that of someone who has never been near a battlefield but has seen the grief of families when their loved ones come home in a box.
There is a part of me that could care less. Piss on them. Feed them to the pigs. I do not care. Get back to me when we start cutting their heads off with pocket knives.
There is another part of me which says we should be above that. It is what separates us from them.
I am conflicted and sometimes the dark side wins.
What bothers me is the whole political theater going on with each of our leaders vying for more horrified posture and racing to punish all these young men and their immediate leaders. These guys risked their lives for all of us in rotten conditions yet our "superiors" can't wait send them all to prison.
I wonder if we'll ever get actual Americans in charge again - people with actual experience and perspective. Not likely I guess.

Here’s the distinction. Peeing on dead terrorists is just a continuation of Bush Administration policy. Now, if the Marines had been peeing on live US citizens or the Constitution then that would be a continuation of Obama Administration policy. This clearly was not Barry’s idea.
Let’s see if I have this straight, it is now OK for gay troops to BF each other but kill a Taliban terrorist then piss on his carcass, that’s a big no-no. I get it. Not really.
