Newt’s an insider- but an insider they cannot control. That’s about as scary as it gets for the Establishment-—and I think Newt has finally realized that’s his message. And I’m betting it will resonate.

you got it bro.. and I will hug all the Perry supporters like Cinn Wife and the Santorum backers.. I love them all I really do because they are my people.. I started my politics as a 14 year old in 1975 as a Ronald
Reagan backer(I had no idea who Ronald Reagan was but my great uncle came to visit us to Virginia from California and told us then that Ronald Reagan was a great governor for California and I paid attention.. I started at that early age to do my homework on Ronald Reagan).. I’m convinced he would have defeated Carter in 1976 but then again the establishment(including my parents) went with Ford.. I worked my ass off for Ronald Reagan as an 19 year old (way before he was seen as a viable candidate against GHW Bush in 1980) and have never looked back.. I was a personal friend of Carroll Campbell(I loved that man) and Arthur Ravenel Jr. when I lived in Charleston(he was a fellow saltwater fisherman)..I have personally worked on at least 6 major campaigns for Conservatives in many federal, state and city wide Republican campaigns in my lifetime in South Carolina.. I have never voted for a non Consevative in a primary.. my father and I make a point to go and vote against Lindsey Graham in the primary to vote for the real Conservative running against him.. those are my Consevative credentials

btw.. I was was a younger fraternity brother of Lee Atwater.... my Conservative credentials are without doubt

GO NEWT!

Don’t mistake me. I like Newt and would support him for president. My point is that for many people—not for me or for you—the presidency is a beauty pageant. He has to play the game. Being nice, warm, and charming is not high on my list of attributes I need in a president; I’m more interested in a tough guy. But this is the American electorate we’re talking about. They seem to care about the surface appearance.

"Remember that Greta, though she does a pretty good job of appearing to be fair and balanced . . ."

I almost laughed myself out of my chair when Rick Santorum offered to get Greta one of his famous sweater vests. Rick asked, "If I get you one, will you wear it, Greta?" She looked like she bit into a sour grape.

Cool!

Lee Atwater’s final book is one of my all time favorites.

And he sure could play the blues. ;~)

Newt, you need to smile.

This works for me. Very presidential and upbeat, I think.
