Romneys victory in New Hampshire can almost deliver the nomination to him and, I am convinced, the presidency. There cannot be a more auspicious moment. Having a man from Bain come in and restore your company or country is like having Chef Gordon Ramsay reawaken your restaurant. And Romney brings skills to his task akin to those of Dwight D. Eisenhower.
It is a transitional moment, but it might even be considered a transcendent moment. Barack Obamas job was to complete a work project begun long ago by Jack Kennedy and Eisenhower and even further back to Lincoln, Emerson and Garrison. This aspect he has graciously mastered and completed.
But we are a different country today than we were in 1831, 1865 or 1956; a rich and full country and one that looks auspiciously out across the Pacific as well as the Atlantic. A place today like Black Elk looked to as the center of the world, East, West, South and the Great White North. So 2012 brings a beginning and there is no one better to begin new processes, systems and establishments than Romney. There is no better man for our times.
Providing everything goes well in South Carolina, which today is more important than New Hampshire.
2012 could bring Romney/Haley 2012 or Romney/Perry or Romney/Petraeus, but this has been the political season of the trickster and the trickster is still at large. So South Carolina could just as easily bring Gingrich/Palin 2012. I think Romney has it. But the departure of Bill Daley from the White House is also ominous. Daley is honest and honorable. He was the first to speak out about the direction of the Obama presidency, claiming that it was leaving the middle behind. It appeared that Daley was brought into the White House to accommodate that middle. Now that he is being sent out it appears that the middle and Daleys warning to Obama is being abandoned and the president will pursue a more radical agenda. This could bring crisis to a divided America like we have not seen in a hundred years.
Neither is Milt. His father was born in Mexico.
Uh, Senator Santorum was defeated last go ‘round. They don’t have newspapers where you live?
Not big on Reagan’s 11th commandment? ;)
The current governor of South Carolina.
I don’t consider Romney to be a Republican.
I disagree that Romney is certain to lose.
I think most people (though not most people here on FR) will agree that he is a better alternative than four more years of Hussein.
Romney/Huntsman. THink about that. Why?
I can’t think of one reason but they would be the good hair candidates.
I’m talkin’ about presidential elections. Try layin’ off the crack pipe a bit.
RINO Romney wont have a woman running mate
His handlers in SLC wont let him
2 terms of Newt followed by 2 for President Palin should see all the rinos, socialists, progressives, communists and dims off the planet for good.

Let me start by saying that I have been a Conservative living in New York since 1951. Do you have ANY idea how frustrating that is?
Further, allow me to add that I am not, nor have I ever been, a fan of Mitt Romney. It’s not that I dislike the guy personally, mind you. I try NEVER to let personal feelings get in the way of my politics. I attack ideas, not people. I wish everyone did that.
Anyway, I’ve always been a Newt fan. Not because of his politics, mind you. He’s done too many silly things for me to trust him. Let’s face it, he can CALL himself a Reagan Conservative, but he’s not.
In any case, I certainly like Newt more than I like Romney.
Having said ALL of that, I should say that I’m also a betting man, and the SMART money says that this race is already over. It’s going to be Romney against Obama, folks. Whether you’re a Newt fan, a Santorum fan, or even a Ron Paul fan, it’s going to be Romney against Obama.
Now, the SMART money ALSO says that Mark Rubio SHOULD be Romney’s Vice-Presidential candidate, and although Republicans SELDOM do what the smart money says that they should, I remind myself that even John McCain was smart enough to bring Sarah Palin to his ticket.
Romney/Gingrich works for me, because I think Newt would be an AWESOME attack dog of a VEEP, but also because I would LOVE to see Newt disembowel Joe Biden during the debates. OMG (Oh my God and Obama Must Go), how great would THAT be?
I predicted Romney/Huntsman a few days ago. Not my choice by a mile but I can definitely see it happening.
Obama-lite, the co-architect (with Teddy Kennedy) of RomneyCare complete with the public option and $50 abortions BOTH worse than the real Obama’s ObamaCare.
I’ll take NEITHER, my friend. I’m writing in a True Conservative such as Cain or Rubio. Period.
A one and done for sure. Alot of talk around here about getting a recall going to get rid of her now. Her
approval rating is around 30% and that was before she
endorsed the liberal for president. She is totally inept. Can’t even work with a republican controlled house to get things done.
Two Mormons beats one???????
I do hope they primary her butt.
who is Nikki?

Should conservatives continue their circular firing squad and allow Romney to win the nomination with the support of 1/3 of the voters then you should look for...ROMNEY/HUCKABEE. Yes, heads will explode but it makes a lot of political sense. (1) Huckabee is all about Huckabee and the only logical reason he stayed out of the race (that polls showed him winning) and then never endorsed, is that he already has a sure deal. Evangelicals and HuckaLovers may cry “but Huckabee hates Romney and Romney is a genuine goat horned Mormon” - Yes, but Huckabee is a pragmatist and power is power. (2) Romney hates Huckabee as well but what better vaccine for his Mormon vulnerability than a Baptist preacher running mate. Romney will do anything to be president. (3) Getting hurt by attacks on Bain and the Millionaire life - time to out populist the populists and Blue Collar Mike is just the guy to sell it.(4) As much as they both make me queasy ROMNEY/HUCKABEE would blow Obama away.
“this race is already over. Its going to be Romney”
Don’t be a quitter. CONSERVATIVES are not quitters.
If Willard Gekko gets the nomination, look for him to put
John Thune from South Dakota on the ticket. That was his
Lindsey Graham in Iowa. Where you seen one, you seen the other. Two RINOs that compliment each other.
