I say the distillery should honor him with a special blend named after him.

Well, he was 46, so I guess they can charge a premium for aged whiskey.

A waitress at The Commercial Hotel in Dufftown said Mr Ettles had been in the bar over the festive period.

Geez, I heard this joke 55 years ago. Might have some truth in it. I’m leaving for the Yeungling tour.

Very sad.
I’ve been to that very distillery. Even had a wee dram at the end of the tour.

Glenfiddich is top-shelf. Regardless, have always found the taste of scotch to be akin to a burnt fence post.

The body was put through a wringer as the distillery director said no one is allowed more than a wee nip without paying.

Truely life imitating art.
The set up for that punchline you quote was the exchange between the widow and the plant manager that called her. The version I heard was:
Widow: Well at least he went quickly with only a few minutes to drown, I imagine.
Plant Manager: Well dear, that isn’t entirely the case as it took an hour and half — he got out three times to pee.

The real tragedy is that they are going to have to throw out that batch.
What a waste.
