A 20-year-old Cranston man faces a felony charge of carrying a pistol without a permit and weapons violations after police discovered a loaded Glock .40 caliber pistol in his glove compartment at a crash scene.
Nicholas Desjarlais, of 29 Seminole Trail, Cranston, was also charged with reckless driving for the Dec. 31 incident. He was taken into police custody after an accident at the intersection of Sockanossett Cross Road and Pontiac Avenue involving injuries, police said.
Police said they found a folding Smith and Wesson pocketknife in Desjarlais' pocket and the Glock Model 22 handgun was found in his car's glove compartment. The .40 caliber gun was loaded with 13 rounds of hollow point ammunition, police said.

I have no plans or desires to ever travel North or East of Virginia.
Could easily have been me who said that. With the exception of Pa, I would have no problem ceding it all back to the King.
Another thread, another example of a state in the northeast with ridiculous laws.
And people wonder why Southerners treat “Yankees” with such contempt....
It likely had a bayonet attached!
I hear DRTs do it better!
>”Not just a pocketknife, but an evil Smith and Wesson pocketknife!”<
In other words, a Redneck Switchblade.
Poor caliber choice. My Glock of choice is a Model 30 and I rarely go anywhere without it - loaded. My folding knife is a Winchester, so I guess I had better stay out of Rhode Island.
It likely had a bayonet attached!
In Massachusetts if a "assault weapon" has a bayonet lug that is a no no even though the bayonet is not attached.
In Rhode Island is it illegal to have a bayonet lug on a S & W Folder? (/s)
I actually have a Glock 21 that is water-transfer Camo (bird shit motif) with night sights, extended mag release, lanyard ring, extended slide release, all capped off with an under mount (modified Picatinny) KaBar miniature bayonet....devilishly nasty looking
Each of you knows exactly what I meant to say. From the Wikipedia definition: “The detachable magazine is often controversially referred to as a clip.”
Further, since I specifically mentioned that Glocks are manufactured to not go off accidentally, it should be quite obvious that I was referring to the lack of MANUAL safeties. I don’t personally give a crap whether by calling them “safeties,” Glock chooses to emphasize that it has three internal mechanisms to obviate the need for manual safeties. The point I was making was that the Glock was NOT manufactured to have an exposed trigger.
I don’t know what it is with certain gun fans and the need to get hung up on matters of terminology. I know the army drills this in to people (”This is my pistol; this is my gun.”) No, sarge: A pistol is a handGUN.
Bull. That Glock only had two beers
You need to lighten up and stay on message.
I just looked at them,,, you are right they would be nasty
On Gunbroker someone was selling replicas of flint lock pistols with bayonets on them. Single shot I can see why they wanted bayonets.
With a Glock an extra magazine has more range to keep the bad guys from getting up close and personal.
Try to get something right in this thread.
I mainly have it just to piss off liberals.
21 is from the Unconstitutional GCA 68.
People can fight and die for this country at 18, yet cannot own a handgun. Tell me how that makes any sense.
GCA68 must be overturned.
