Gingrich answers Rush Limbaugh
The Hill ^ | 1/10/2012 | Christian Heinze

Posted on 01/10/2012 1:23:20 PM PST by americanophile

On Fox & Friends this morning, Newt Gingrich fought back against Rush Limbaugh's criticism of his rhetoric on Bain Capital.

FOX HOST STEVE DOOCY: I was driving around yesterday in my car, and I was listening to Rush Limbaugh, and he was talking about you and how you're going after Mitt Romney and Bain Capital.

And he said that you're using the language of the Left to beat up on Romney over Bain.

He said it makes him uncomfortable because that's what the Left will do if Romney is the nominee.

GINGRICH: Well, I don't think I'm using the language of the Left. I'm using the language of classic American populism.

Main Street has always been suspicious of Wall Street, small businesses have always worried about big businesses.... and I think people have a natural concern when they see financiers come in from out of town, take over a company, take all the profits, and then leave people who are unemployed behind.

I second that.

CWCT has always been a troll here, and a crafty liar.

America may have awoken too late. We'll see.

But being a Believer, I know this is only a short time compared to eternity. And we win in the end.

"Is capitalism really about the ability of a handful of rich people to manipulate the lives of thousands of other people and walk off with the money? Or is that, somehow, a little bit of a flawed system?"

It's not the system Newt. It's the world damaged by the sins of us all. And government, a gift of common grace from God, is the corruptible instrument of choice of the rich.

James 5
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.
5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.
6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.

Bless you DJ, that really is what it is all about.

Thanks for reminding me, it's all too easy to forget sometimes.

Newt Gingrich is an absolute patriot and American hero for trying to take this frightening, sinister character out ANY WAY THAT HE CAN, and for possibly being willing to fall on his own sword in the process of saving his country. I think Newt instinctively understands the threat Romney poses to our nation after suffering the brutal, amoral and heartless attacks from Romney and his cronies firsthand. If Newt can succeed in wiping Romney off the face of the political landscape for good then he will have done our country his greatest and most admirable service to date.

Amen!

Sorry, but I disagree. Anyone who can lie as much and as often as Romney does, with virtually every breath he takes, cannot be trusted and is capable of anything. Since his career at Bain Capital shows that he is not at all an altruistic individual, it should make anyone very suspicious of his motives for wanting to be President. Everyone has to ask themselves what is in it for him and his cronies that they cannot get any other way other than by him becoming the President. It was a coalition of useful idiot government do-gooders and Wall Street robber barons that sunk our country into the Great Recession. If we replace Obama with Romney, we’re not getting rid of the problem, we’re just flipping the counterfeit coin over onto its other side.

It is hard to imagine that Romney hasn’t bought off Ron Paul in some way since Ron Paul’s ads seem to never attack Romney and have attacked every other high-polling candidate. I said a few days ago that Romney bought off many of the people who endorsed him with campaign contributions, and this was just proven today with the news story about Nikki Haley. Newt said it even earlier that Romney would buy the election if he could. People have to realize that Newt has the finely tuned instincts to smell exactly what Romney is. He is one of the few out there that has been ahead of the curve on pegging what Romney is up to.

It should be company to company. Profit sharing is the wave of the future. I am not as dumb as some want you to believe here. I do share profits and it makes my company stronger. Unless corporate raiders come to take it, divide it up and raid the pension plans we have put in place. Someone like Mitt Romney

[retire Rush?]

Words can’t express how disappointed I am with some of the people I once admired.

First it was Sarah Palin, then Nikki Haley and now Rush Limbaugh.

As far as Rush goes, I will never look at him or listen to him in the same way again.

That is no answer, Paul didn’t endorse Cynthia McKinney for spending, and nothing explains his turning against Reagan and wanting to lead the goofy open borders, pro-porn, weak on defense, pro-abortion, drug addled Libertarian party.

The guy is a con man who knows that he could never break out of his safe district, he can’t even win a race outside of his district among Texas voters.

Now he helps Romney.

“If Bain is the model for capitalism then count me out. I have been a conservative business man all my life and I can not for the life of me figure out why people want to defend Corporate Raiders. I live in fear of them. They are ruthless and greedy, no they are not CAPITALIST, they are opporunitist.”

You are absolutely correct. I can not believe how many people are suckered into defending tactics of corporate raiders as capitalism.

A corporate raider is no more the face of capitalism than an out of control negligent bounty hunter is the face of law enforcement.

There is no way they should be smearing capitalism with corporate raiders, let alone defending it. There is no way Romney can win the general if Bain utilized raider tactics.

The interesting thing is he has been redistricted out, and moved and run in a new district three times, and always wins big. The Texas GOP establishment has tried hard to rid itself of Ron Paul.
