The case needs to be made that either Gingrich or Santorum needs to get out of the race. ******BUT LET THE PRIMARY VOTERS DECIDE****** It's not that I'm choosing either one. I'm confident that either one could beat Romney, and then go on to beat Obama in the general.

But right now the conservative vote is split. The establishment vote is unified. We conservatives can't win this way.

For you Newt supporters, I'd rather unify with your Gingrich than see Romney lose in the general.

For you Santorum supporters, I'd rather unify with your Rick than see Romney lose in the general.

And for you Perry supporters, I'm sorry but it looks like he'll be leaving soon.

I'm past looking solely at one candidate, I'm looking to preventing Obama from having a re-match with McCain. That's my #1 goal. Mitt McCain must be stopped. We already know how 2008 ended up.

It’s funny when people say Perry should drop out because he’s splitting the vote. He’s getting 5%. Even if you assume NONE of his supporters would move to Romney, what other candidate is going to benefit from a 2% bump in the polls?

If the polls are to be believed, the voters have already removed Perry from the race. So long as he keeps spending money attacking Romney and Obama, he’s doing a good thing.

The real problem right now is the Gingrich/Santorum split. But again, it’s hard to see that the two candidates share a common constituency — if only 20% of their supporters have Romney as a 2nd choice, it wouldn’t help if either of them dropped out either.

What is necessary now is to tear down Romney, not “coalesce the opposition”. If it takes 3 guys to do that, then go at it.

NEvertheless, you can’t expect a man to bow out when he thinks he has a good shot at winning. Anyone with an ego big enough to try for that job is going to be incapable of doing that—and I wouldn’t want him to. I’d have to wonder about the desire of anyone that would do that.

Look, if we have to put Romen-noodles in the wh to unseat this mess, so be it. What we MUST do is capsize the Senate and House with tea party congresspeople who will go in there like Jesus with a whip knotted out of cords. Ones who will not go along with a liberal forked tongue RINO president. Actually, if we get a fire-breathing conservative congress, Romen-noodles will have to stay on board.

But I sure would like to see a man like Rick in there. Newt would be ok too.

Hope they enjoy voting for their pro-abortion, pro-gay, corporate-raiding, socialist. But they can count me out.

Ok so heres the deal. We need a mutually agreed winning strategy. How about we all agree that we all vote for the leader of the Not-Romney canidates (Newt Rick or Perry). Whoever is leading in a particular state/primary...he gets the votes. Otherwise we are going to get Rinoed again!

This is sadly unfolding exactly the way I feared it would.

Santorum and Gingrich need to come to a agreement. Whoever comes in first among the two in NH goes on against Romney the other drops out and endorses the first. Heck make the deal for the VP slot. It works for me either way. Santorum could learn a lot under Newt's wing for 8 years. And Newt would be fantastic bashing heads in the senate as VP. Either would be a good president.

Come on guys, make the deal and then smash Romney and Obama in turn.

Don't panic. Remember, the polls had Romney up in Iowa, too.

Steady. By the time Florida gets here, things will have changed in terms of who is still in the race.

My sentiments EXACTLY.

“Santorum & Gingrich must unite to win: One must yield or the Party will be hi-jacked once again” (from last night)

If Romnie wins the RINO nomination, America is still just as doomed as if Osama won reelection. I see the dud as no different than the socialist in office now. America is done. Nothing can repair the damages done by the socialists, the Fed Bank, and other commies in position to take control. Nope, I see no hope of America EVER being what it once was. We have gone over the hump and are diving straight down!

I was afraid of this. Hopefully the field will be narrowed enough, soon enough, to help unite conservatives against Romney.

FL is full of transplanted northerners, and I guess Santorum is not sufficiently Yankee for them.

The problem is that delegates are not assigned proportionally.

It is absurd to have a "winner" who 60-80% of the Republicans vote against.

If a state committee wants a "winner take all" delegate award, make the definition of "winner" 67%, otherwise award the delegates proportionally. And make the big states go last, no earlier than June 1.

Listening to Rush now, and my read between the lines is that he is leaning to Romney, without saying so just yet.

As they do so well, the GOP is pulling defeat from the jaws of victory in November. The Obama team will use our words in their ads in the General Election. We are our own worst enemy. The divided GOP is giving Obama four more years in the White House to finish destroying this nation.
