Sept 28, 2011: Obama’s top ‘fat cat’ strays

Excerpt:

JP Morgan honcho Jamie Dimon, once a “fat cat” ally of President Obama, seems to have strayed to Republican contender Mitt Romney.

Dimon, a lifelong Democrat who was rumored to be on Obama’s short list for treasury secretary before he settled on Tim Geithner, met privately with Romney on Tuesday morning before a fund-raiser at Brasserie 8¹/2 hosted by Highbridge Capital, a JPMorgan-owned hedge fund.

Dimon, who was spotted “in a discreet one-on-one” discussion with Romney, cannot publicly endorse a candidate because he sits on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. But he donated to Democratic candidates in 2008 and privately supported Obama.

Aug. 23, 2011: Former Wall Street Obama Backers Switch to Romney

Excerpt:

*snip*

“I think Romney could at least split Wall Street with Obama, which is something McCain really didn’t do,” said Charlie Gasparino, a reporter for Fox Business News. None of the expected bank presidents showed up to a recent fundraiser for President Obama, he added.

Romney has established himself as the “Wall Street favorite” for the Republicans, and Gasparino said Romney’s moderate reputation and experience working on Wall Street have helped seal his position. Tea Party candidates for president don’t have much of a chance getting significant backing from the banks, Gasparino explains in this video.

Dec 12, 2011: Romney’s Run Puts a Spotlight on Private Equity

Excerpt:

Mr. Romney, a co-founder of Bain Capital, will spend time at the sprawling Park Avenue apartment of his former rival and sometime deal partner, Stephen A. Schwarzman, the co-founder of the Blackstone Group. He will also be toasted at the Waldorf Astoria by James B. Lee Jr., vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase, who helped orchestrate many of the private equity industry’s biggest deals, along with a smattering of other senior executives from the bank.

Maybe he never worked on Wall Street, but he may have attended meetings on Wall Street. It is likely that he has never walked on Wall Street, as his limo stopped next to a sidewalk on Wall Street.

Yep, just the straight-shooter we need to replace “You Lie” Obama!

BTW “Mitt,” keep talking and your foot will soon be in your mouth along with your mitt.

"By the way, I haven't ever worked on Wall Street. They were service providers to the business I was in, I was not in a Wall Street firm, although I was in financial services broadly."

Talk about a distinction with no difference. Obama will make mincemeat of this waffling, faux-conservative phony if the Republicans are foolish enough to nominate him. By the time of the general election, Romney will be seen by most of the electorate as the most evil capitalist who ever lived.
