“a budget that is over $1 trillion in the red year after year, and even the Republicans do not have a chance of doing anything about it.”

Ron Paul was in the U.S. Congress three different periods: first from 1976 to 1977, after he won a special election, then from 1979 to 1985 and finally since 1997. These were precisely the times when the Federal spending got out of control and the politicians got us into our current situation.

You say Republicans don't do anything about it.

Can you name a single specific a thing that Ron Paul ever did when he was in Congress to reduce the problem you complain about?

Ron Paul has done absolutely nothing to help resolve the problems he makes his issues.

Ron Paul has been ineffective as a legislator. He is a long term Washington insider who runs against Washington.

Ron Paul's foreign policy is a regurgitation of the leftist “blame America for everything” and “attack America and support America's enemies”. It is dangerous and borders on the treasonous.

His domestic policy is to be part of the Congress and do nothing and then complain about the Congress and the Federal government.

BRILLIANT!!!!

Your question is somewhat irrational to me. Just like any member of the House, he is only one vote out of 435. His voting record does receive “A” ratings from the National Taxpayers Union (fiscal conservative group that promotes lower spending and lower taxes), usually among the highest in the House. And he seems to be talking about cutting spending all the time, and his proposed budget is the only one I have seen that has a chance of solving our debt crisis.

“You say Republicans don’t do anything about it.”

Not exactly what I said. Many Republicans also receive “As” from the NTU, as does my Congressman, I am very happy to say. The problem is that less than half the Republicans have As, and the Republican average is a B. Thus, I fear that even if we have a R House, and a R Senate, and even a R President (which looks like Romney, Newt or Santorum), I doubt that the R’s will have the votes to seriously cut federal spending; at best, they might cut the rate of increase in federal spending.

For example, even Paul Ryan’s Path to Prosperity proposal (which, unfortunately, is too conservative to receive support from all Republicans, thus it has little chance of being adopted) would only project a balanced yearly budget by the year 2030, at the earliest.

Better yet, after Congress, for the past 20 plus years has sent the country into an endless pit of debt, blown the national treasure, allowed tens of millions to enter this country illegally, while hundreds of thousands of American jobs were off-shored...What has *anyone* in Congress done to reduce these country killing problems?

"Ron Paul has done absolutely nothing to help resolve the problems he makes his issues.

It is very difficult for a conservative to get anything done in Congress when half the body is Marxist and the other half is Socialist. I am surprised a smart guy like you can't figure that out.
