In pointing out how Barack Obama only won in 2008 by a slim margin, so this years Republican nominee doesnt have to win over all that many Americans, ABCs Jake Tapper on Sunday morning listed the media amongst the factors going for Obama four years ago: You had the media, perhaps, tilting on the scales a little bit. Thats an understatement, but a noteworthy realization when it comes from the chief White House correspondent for a major network. From the roundtable on the Sunday, January 8 This Week with George Stephanopoulos produced in Manchester, New Hampshire:

Despite the MSM acting a a dem propaganda arm
McCain/Palin were ahead in the polls until the economic disaster hit
Kind of like being “a little bit” pregnant.
You’d think all that media slobber would have tilted the scales further than that. I’ve seen MSNBC commentators produce more drool when talking up Obama than could be produced by a herd of heifers in a petunia patch.
“perhaps”
yes, perhaps Jake.. perhaps..
weasel....
gutless weasel..
how do they call themselves “reporter” or “journalist” and look at themselves in the mirror...
When everyone knew it was to be Gore vs. Bush - Evan Thomas of Newsweek said, “The media is worth 15% in the polls.” so when they say they tilt a little, take 15% off Pres. Obama and today you have a man at 25% not 40!!
.....and the scales are still tilted.
I guess if by ‘a little bit’ you mean the mass of Mt. Everest.
So did McCain.
Tapper has a keen grasp of the obvious.
Evan Thomas of Newsweek said, The media is worth 15% in the polls.
Explains Romney,, but it’s heartening to know that he is only getting his 25% WITH the media tailwind.
Gee Jake...do ya think???
(and it continues even today. But at least Tapper admits it, sorta)
A little bit??? Give us a break Jake, your MSM was doing pro Obama stories by 4-1 over McShame.
Wonder why he is mentioning that fact
Very telling. I actually think it goes quite a bit further than just the polls. It's not just the slant that is put on the reported stories themselves, but also which stories get reported and which ones prompt deafening crickets. If this man had been properly vetted, he likely would never have polled above the 18% corresponding to the voter base that identifies themselves as very liberal.
Then all of this and much, much more could have been avoided.
that is why FreeRepublic, HotAir, PJ media, Daily Caller, even NRO online etc. etc. are so important - the unreported get some light of day.
