By Nate, on January 7th, 2012
Tonight will mark the first of two debates this weekend focused on the New Hampshire Republican primary. This evening's debate will take place at Saint Anselm College and is sponsored by ABC News, Yahoo! and WMUR. Sunday morning will feature a GOP debate broadcast on NBC at 9am ET (yes, am) but look for more details on that later today.
Air Time: Saturday, January 7th at 9pm ET / 6pm PT on ABC
Live Stream: WMUR and Yahoo! News
Participants: Santorum, Romney, Paul, Perry, Gingrich, Huntsman
Report from WMUR:

My take/rankings tonight:
1.) Newt (clear, consensus winner)
2.) Perry (Denied any significant time, had to interject himself into half “his” time).
3.) Santorum (Stumbled a bit, but had good moments, too)
4.) Paul (Wrong, but holds his ground and has answers for everything)
5.) Romney (George S. made it clear Mitt would not answer any direct questions)
6.) Huntsman (Came off as eccentric and a one-note singer)
Hey there, jewel!
How can we make Huntsman and Paul go away?
Romney got schooled last time he ran.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bX2hkmE5zA There's a good debate clip where Mr. Hunter set the record straight.
JH was apologizing to China in their language.
“excuse, please, my republican fellows on this stage who say harsh things to the glorious republic of china. We do not mean any of it, it is all bluff, no worries, eternal friends.”
Ron Paul Take away his drivers license
Rick Perry Salvaged his reputation a bit but tool little to late i’m afraid
Jon Huntsman Still has a strange demeanor
The BIG THREE
Mitt Romney Talks like a CEO too much, doesn’t know if a state
can ban birth control under Constitution but insists and passes state law
that says forcing people to buy insurance is constitutional
FLUNKED THE TEA PARTY TEST TONIGHT! state police power? Ever hear of
it Mitt? Griswold v. Connecticut (1965) precursor to Roe v. Wade (1972).
He graduated from Harvard Law for gosh sakes. I knew about it.
Rick Santorum Got some passion and did well. Better than I expected.
Showed he is a top tier candidate.
Newt Gingrich Has a great command of local and national issues
Has best economic plan.
Uses humor well.
Conclusion: If this debate goes beyond Feb. 1, Mitt is in real trouble
because he only gives a stump speech and Rick and Newt really
overwhelm him on policy.
mitt will get killed by Obama in a debate.
With libs, it's all about "feelings".
I’m in, sick of the Romney talking points.
Yep. I like him.
“Front Runner”.... and that’s the first thing the “analyst” said in the post-debate analysis. Was anyone going to attack the Front Runner, Romney.
Sigh.
He concludes Romney won. Stephanopolous and the second analyst also said Romney won.
I wonder if they ask Romney if he wants a happy ending when they finish interviewing him?
WTF is Donna "Walking Around Money" Brazile doing there front and center? What kind of freakin' expertise does she bring? I mean come on. She worked for a LOSING CANDIDATE...why not have Bob Shrum, or George McGovern's 1972 campaign manager? What a joke.
Romney-gasm going on now with the abc after-debate opinions.
Yet ABCs ANALysts are saying no one put a glove on Mitt, no one showed why he should not be the nominee.
I have to say I expected Newt to go after him a lot stronger. But maybe Newt has a strategery...
I have been to Beijing. The West is exporting whole factories with the latest technology to China. Because of their low wages, there is no way we compete with them, especially when they manipulate their currency and steal our intellectual property.
The reality is that we can't continue with the status quo. China's trade surplus with the US is about 160 bilion. It has been declining recently due to economic conditions in the US. They must make up the loss of demand domestically or somewhere else.
lol again and agree, but I think Huntsman is running for president of China.
Well, he was from more than 200 miles away. And he did have an attache case...
He sure did!
Romney just hogged air time, broke the rules, and blabbed on and on about nothing. He sounded like a campaign ad.
Ya need to throw in something about lackey dogs of imperial war mongers.
Analysis: Romney's rivals have little time in SC
Yes, I agree with you.
Still, I liked Perry’s answer best. He’d be on the shooting range on a Saturday night!
Yee-Haw!
