Lest you doubt that we're headed for the most vicious election year in memory, consider the determined effort, within 10 minutes of his triumph in Iowa, to weirdify Rick Santorum. Discussing the surging senator on Fox News, Alan Colmes mused on some of the "crazy things" he's said and done.
Santorum has certainly said and done many crazy things, as have most members of America's political class, but the "crazy thing" Colmes chose to focus on was Santorum's "taking his two-hour-old baby when it died right after childbirth home," whereupon he "played with it." My National Review colleague Rich Lowry rightly slapped down Alan on air, and Colmes subsequently apologized, though not before Mrs. Santorum had been reduced to tears by his remarks. Undeterred, Eugene Robinson, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Washington Post columnist, doubled down on stupid and insisted that Deadbabygate demonstrated how Santorum is "not a little weird, he's really weird."
The short life of Gabriel Santorum would seem a curious priority for political discourse at a time when the Brokest Nation in History is hurtling toward its rendezvous with destiny. But needs must, and victory by any means necessary. In 2008, the Left gleefully mocked Sarah Palin's live baby. It was only a matter of time before they moved on to a dead one.

Their empathy is limited to what they can used to justify spending other peoples money and their compassion only goes as far as what can be used to accrue them more power.
Indeed. They despise anyone who makes them question themselves.
I loathe these people.
Never. Being a lib means those who oppose you politically are not simply wrong, they are evil. Therefore anything about them (including families) is a free-fire zone.
Spot on. Well turnabout is fair play. When the shooting starts I for one intend to spare none of them. I’ll act as they do, without mercy or remorse.
NO PRISONERS!!

Thanks for keeping these pings coming. Mark is a national (undocumented) treasure.
Thank you for sharing that excerpt and link, dear Matchett-PI!
Not my business, but I would have disowned any Relative of mine who would have such a morbid thought, yet alone one who would express it to others.
You have my sympathy having to deal with a Family member with such an empty soul. You are a better person than I.
Once again, you’re welcome! :)
“Just when does the brutality towards the family of Republican candidates end?”
It ends when they stop running, or when the American public elects them in a landslide, whenever comes first.
The Biased Media (BM for short) will never stop this behavior voluntarily, only when even they see it’s not working anymore.
I find Dr. Godwin's idea of "mind parasites," how they "work," and their pernicious effects on persons and societies extraordinarily illuminating.
I concur with Diamond's assessment: "When people like Alan Colmes spew out their insane accusations they are really just revealing what [is] in their own hearts."
RE: Mr. Colmes, the following observations come to mind:
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character. We can only see what we are; if we misbehave, we suspect others. Ralph Waldo EmersonPlus
It will be generally found that those who sneer habitually at human nature are among its worst and least pleasant examples. Charles DickensThank you ever so much, dear Matchett-PI, for the link to "Gagdad Bob's" outstanding article.
Around 20 years or so ago I called a radio talk show hosted by Alan Colmes, who was ranting about abortion "rights". Don't ask me why I did that, I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, I just asked him about when he himself begin to exist as a human being. Instead of just answering the question in a rational manner, he began literally screaming in a hideous, high-ptiched falsetto voice, pretending to be a pre-born child, in a mocking way, begging for his life: "Please don't kill me! Please don't kill me!", and hung up the phone.
Vampires, of course are fictional, but you are right. I realized then that these people are very real, very insane monsters.
Cordially,
Cordially,
Thank you. I agree.
Here's more:
"....... anything that doesn't have its roots aloft in the divine life is essentially dead -- or undead is more like it, since it is the negation of Life, not its opposite. Our undead self consists of identification with various mind parasites, and it is from this pseudo-self "that we have to be rescued, or saved." Deliverance from this state is a kind of resurrection in this life.
[...........]
The local ego is "exteriority" as such. When you think about it, it's the only thing that is "outside" the cosmos. It is merely a kind of Darwinian adaptation to external circumstances, and is therefore largely a mirror of the environment. It is more or less exiled from spirit, and in need of deliverance, or salvation. This is why various cultures are so crazy, because they have no living relationship to the truth that transcends the quasi-animal ego. Ultimately they are just neurotic or psychotic collective adaptations to the ubiquitous problem of having a mind.
For example........"
Meanwhile, the accommodation of deviancy in our culture has the effect of destroying that culture sooner or later....
But the "deviants" are so self-preoccupied that they don't even care. They want to "feel good about themselves," and compel other people to "feel good" about them, too. They'd take down the entire social order to achieve this result.
No wonder our society seems so "insane" these days....
INSANE is the right word.
"......In the mental realm, truth is a force. In fact, it is without question the most important force. Some people -- mostly aging hippies and addle-brained youths, who represent the two main constituencies of the left, wacktivists and hedonists .....
"For those who do not experience George Bush [for instance] as a demon, it is almost impossible to understand those who do, any more than we can really understand the motivations of the Aztec. The collective mind parasite has a grammar and logic all its own, inaccessible to all but initiates into the Lie.
"You don't actually want to get that close to an intoxicating Lie of that magnitude. It's not safe. Better to observe it from a respectful distance. Otherwise, you will find yourself pulled down into a false world of counter-lying rather than simple truth. You cannot create an artificial "good demon, which is what secular leftists are trying to do when they aren't creating bad ones. Those who criticize my "negativity" toward the left probably think I am engaging in the former -- heatedly countering the lie -- when I am calmly engaged in the latter -- simply affirming the truth that Is and has always been. This is the inner meaning of "resist not evil." Resist it in the wrong way, and you come into its orbit. ...."
"... When someone is acting out their mind parasites, it is partly because they are unable to "read" them. Mind parasites always operate below the radar of conscious cognition. One of the primary tasks of the therapist is to read what the patient cannot read -- the same way the mother "reads" her infant, or "thinks his thoughts." ..."
