What makes a "green" job?
A Minnesota hair salon once identified its hair stylists as being in green jobs. Another business claimed a bartender was green. But after two years of study, state labor market researchers have come up with a more conservative view of the new and emerging jobs in the "green" sector.
Funded through a stimulus grant of $1.6 million, the state scoured job descriptions at thousands of companies and talked to many of them one by one about the nature of their job openings.
Minnesota now defines a green job as one that is directly related or essential to energy efficiency, renewable energy or environmental cleanup, in which workers spend at least half their time on the job in such activities.
In the end, researchers found a relatively small but growing green-jobs sector that accounted for 2.5 percent of the state's job openings, or 3,800 positions, between the fourth quarter of 2009 and second quarter of 2011. This would translate into a "green" sector of 65,000 jobs out of a 2.6 million-job economy.
The study describes a new and emerging green economy in the state, with jobs that are "real and widely diffused."

Obama Energy Department Is Going Back and Changing Solar Energy Loan Press Releases
The Obama Administration spent nearly half of the $38.6 billion ($17.2 billion) set aside for his green energy programs and was only able to create 3,545 permanent green jobs. This comes out to a staggering $4,853,000 per job.

I guess if it ends in a criminal probe and is a boondoggle, it's proof it's a "green" job.
Yay stimulus for the swindlers!
“Green Job”:
Any “job” that receives federal tax dollars, routed by 0bama, that ends up contributing at least some of that money back into democRat campaign coffers.
Then there's porous pavement to recharge groundwater. Jerks again...we have catch basins that do the same thing.
Psssst...and there was a time when we had brick streets with porous joints. These folks are just stupid and it's our money. They should all be out digging ditches.
From “Vision of the Anointed”, by Thomas Sowell, Page 260:
In the anointed we find a whole class of supposedly thinking people who do remarkably little thinking about substance and a great deal of verbal expression. In order that this relatively small group of people can believe themselves wiser and nobler than the common herd, we have adopted policies which impose heavy costs on millions of other human beings, not only in taxes, but also in lost jobs, social disintegration, and a loss of personal safety. Seldom have so few cost so much to so many.
