UDT is underwater Demolition Team, it was before the seals but many (all?) UDT members became SEALS. So you might say that UDT was the precursor to SEALS. I know a UTD member, 80+ and I would not want to mess with him.
Same here. My SCUBA instructor was an old UDT guy and one tough SOB. Great guy. One time I went diving and the divemaster assumed that I was a military trained diver. I corrected him, but I was sure flattered!

They UDT was the descendents of the “Frogmen” of WWII. They cleared landing beaches of obstacles before the landing craft arrived.
