Caucus Vote Counter Says Romney Mistakenly Given 20 Votes

(Video report at link)

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Caucus night was chaotic in many places, with hundreds of voters, candidates showing up and the throngs of media who followed. The world's eyes were on Iowa. But in the quiet town of Moulton, Appanoose County, a caucus of 50 people may just blow up the results.

Edward True, 28, of Moulton, said he helped count the votes and jotted the results down on a piece of paper to post to his Facebook page. He said when he checked to make sure the Republican Party of Iowa got the count right, he said he was shocked to find they hadn't.

"When Mitt Romney won Iowa by eight votes and I've got a 20-vote discrepancy here, that right there says Rick Santorum won Iowa," True said. "Not Mitt Romney."

In its report tonight Fox News (the Bret Baier show) talked about the Republicans in New Hampshire and started off with video of Mittens, with the Fox narrator saying, “Romney is looking for back-to-back wins...”. If I was Santorum I would be shouting to the heavens this story about actually winning Iowa, to try to shut up the “Romney won Iowa” narrative ASAP.

Sure, it’s all PR but why should Mittens get any benefit?

And here’s what Perry had the misfortune to think and say to Iowans over ethanol:

Des Moines Register, August 15, 2011

“Obviously the subsidies on ethanol are going to be moving out of there. It’s a mature industry. And so the oil and gas industry has tax incentives. We need all the different energy sources that we can have out there. So let’s have the conversation about which of these are really the most appropriate ones for us to have in this country. … Do you go away from a subsidy program to a tax incentive program?”

Town hall meeting in New Hampshire, Aug. 13, 2011

“When you heard me talking about removing the burdens on the job creators. The energy industry in America is a great example of that. And the fact is, I am an all of the above energy guy.******** Now, I have a little asterisk on corn-based ethanol. It’s got some problems and I think they are going to start moving out of those subsidies and that government can’t go picking choosing winners.******* But wind energy, solar energy and biomass. I am a supporter of nuclear energy.”

Not that I blame Iowans for protecting their natural economic advantages. It just suggests that any antagonism towards subsidies - if you tell the truth about it, like Perry did - might shave a point or two off your finish.

Rick Santorum was on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning.

Santorum said that Romney spent $1.2 million in Iowa,
whereas he, Santorum, spent $30,000.

When Glenn asked Santorum if he was prepared for the negative media blitz about to be unleashed upon him,
Santorum said, “This isn’t my first trip to the rodeo.”

Only thing that is surely known is

If an “R” would have beat a “D” by 8 votes, “they” (D’s) would have found 50 more votes before the ink dried.

And as many as necessary, no matter how many times the “R” went ahead..

As a recap
After the ‘D’ finds the 80,000 votes he needs and gets ahead by 1 the results are official.

And isn't it true that no Republican that won Iowa and NH didn't get the nomination? I thought I heard that somewhere. So it would be nice if Santorum picked up Iowa even if he isn't the eventual nominee.

So the Paulites want to do innIowa what they tried to do in Nevada 4 years ago, steal all of the state’s delegates after being soundly defeated at the polls? Fortunately, Sue Lowden was there to stop the shenanigans and prevent Paul from stealing the state’s delegates, which so upset the Paulites that they pulled all stops to defeat Lowden when she ran for the GOP Senate nomination in 2010 to take on Harry Reid; this contributed to Sharron Angle’s upset victory in the primary, and we all remember what happened next.

I hope that, if Paulites end up stealing Iowa’s delegates, conservatives who are attracted by Paul’s views on economic and fiscal policies nevertheless criticize such an affront to our democratic values.

The US had not elected a legislator since JFK before both parties nominated one the last time. So again it does not matter, it was a tie.

Thank you so much, Girlene, for the link to the whole speech. Rush reported Wednesday that when Romney saw how well Santorum spoke on his feet, he had his teleprompter taken down.

Here’s a link to a remarkable Santorum appearance at the Thanksgiving Family Forum.

A little vote rigging by the GOP no doubt. They can’t have a true conservative win. They can’t have anyone who is not part of their Rino establishment win. If you are a threat to them like Rick is then you must be snuffed out.

It is not just the democrats who attack true conservatives. The GOP is every bit as afraid of them as the leftist democrats.
