I don't see how one could come to any other conclusion when reading this piece from Mediaite about a confrontation between NRO's Rich Lowrey and the liberal pundit. The imbroglio erupted when Colmes said that Iowans would get off the Santorum bandwagon once they discovered some of the "crazy things" he's said and done. The segment was pegged to Santorum's polling surge in Iowa, which Colmes argued wouldn't last "once they get a load of some of the crazy things he's said and done, like taking his two-hour-old baby who died after childbirth and played with it

Why wouldn't the hospital allow this? Is the child somehow the property of the hospital?
Santorum was foolish to try to discuss this in public.
I think it was 1996.
You mean you actually admit listening to the lizard? MGA! I thought everybody with any self respect had turned him off by now.
Matthew 6:12
Why?
Not sure but expect you are speaking theoretically. If my brother died, I doubt they'd just let me load his corpse into the back of my pickup. On the other hand they do release bodies to undertakers all the time but expect they are liscenced by the state to care and dispose of bodies properly. I presume this happened in PA.
Alan Colmes is a stupid and liberal idiot. A poor excuse for a decent human being.
Unless you think it’s frutful in the context of a Presidential Campaign to take a detour and discuss a candidate’s dead baby.
His wife years ago related the incident in her book.
If the Santorums are guilty of anything its misjudging the depths to which the political classes and others will sink to work their political will.
And I'm not going to ding them for that - I too am surprised.
I saw this. He should be fired.
Santorum’s wife wrote about all of this in a book before Rick Santorum discussed it.
I don't think Rick Santorum and his family loaded the baby in the back of the pickup. Secondly, doesn't the family have the right to the body? Talk about a basic human right.
I would have done a similar thing as hard as it would have been because the child deserves the dignity of being a person and being part of the family.
Bringing the baby home is what every family looks forward to. Should it matter if the child doesn't make it? It is the child's home as well.
I saw it too and knew the issue was eventually going to come up if Santorum went anywhere. You know the liberal talk shows will have a grand old time with this. Sad but true.
I always thought Alan Colmes resembled the Grinch in a way.
I will pray for his conversion & repentance. His comments are hideous & reveal a very hardened heart.
It was brought up earlier and now Colmes brings it up again. Rick is preaching the Gospel of Life and we are to preach it in and out of season. Right now is out of season.
The point Santorum was making was that this was a human being so my point about my brother shouldn't make a difference or just blown away as irrelevant.
All I asked was whether or not hospitals really allowed this these days... not taking a position or judging and certainly not trying to shoot any messenger.
I’m sick of hearing how Ghoul Boy has a good heart. Anybody with a good heart would never even dream of saying such a hideous hurtful thing about anyone. Even if you thought it you wouldn’t say it. Alan Colmes is a snarky little so and so who has no place on Fox News commenting on the political scene or anything else. What a loser. I can’t believe Monica Crowley’s sister is married to him. I’d kill myself.
