Live thread to cover today's GOP caucus. News, predictions, opinions, totals, and the like.
Will be heading out about 4 pm or so to get our site ready and do a final review with the precinct chairs. I expect it to be bigger than 2008 with very heavy turnout and we are preparing for that.
We are also ready for disruptions. They simply won't be tolerated. The state party sent us a memo saying if there's any trouble call the cops immediately. Anyone trying to cause problems is going to get a rude awakening.
My predictions of the outcome are a narrow field with about a 10 point spread for the top five with Bachmann far behind in single digits:
Santorum - 24 Romney - 22 Paul - 20 Perry - 17 Gingrich - 14 Bachmann - 4 The Rest - 1
Think things are still in flux and many won't decide till right to the wire, so I'm not terribly confident of any predictions.
Yeah us too. Psych marathon after supper for my SIL’s birthday and still up watching Psych and following FR.
Love it! Romney’s gazzillions against shoestring budget Santorum.....pick up truck and all! This is what great stories are made of!
WT*? Karl Rove: vote for Romney might have been under counted...
WHOHOO!!! Rock on and Praise God!
So why did Romney endorse McCain over JD Hayworth?
RINOs helping RINOs. :)
Santorum is the winner tonight no matter what, if he actually wins the vote, that’s just gravy.
HUH????
Braggin’ rights.
Huntsman is needed in New Hampshire to take votes from Romney and siphon of lib elite RINO Republican votes up there...he is a useful tool, for now. Plus, his daughters is hot.
I turned off the cable coverage and was watching local news that showed Bachmann dancing on the stage with her husband.
It was a little bit on the strange side.
Yep, they are tabulating the results.
4 votes out of 120k was the difference tonight.
Jan 2, 2011:
Santorum's fundraising soars along with his poll numbers
A senior Santorum adviser tells CNN the campaign raised more money in the last week than they raised on-line the past six months, adding that fundraising is between 300% and 400% higher on a daily basis than it was just ten days ago.
Cadell said it as if being pro-life hurt Santorum. That wasn’t the case at all. And the homsexual issue wasn’t really a factor in 2006. That election was about Iraq more than anything else.
Hey, Cnn says they are separated by only 4! It was by only ONE a few moments earlier.
ANYONE WATCHING CNN? IT’S BEEN GOOD WITH THIS PAIR SPEAKING FOR THE REPUBLICANS.
Fox now has Santorum up by FOUR votes, but everything is messed up because they now have two counties they were previously reporting at 100% back down in the 90’s.
NY Times has Santorum up by 18 votes.

You should have been around here on election night 2000. Exhausting.
Very strange. For the longest time the reporting was that there were only two precincts yet to come in, with Santorum leading by 18 votes.
Now it shows nine precincts outstanding, with Santorum only leading by four votes.
Something is starting to smell very funny here...
And I have to say from the Mall sales over Christmas in our area... consumerism was alive and well....but we're also awake now...at least we know what's at stake and the nation has to fight thru this election to get our man in.
