Liberal talk show host Alan Colmes sunk to new a new low when he said on Fox News that former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum took his deceased baby home to 'play with it.'
Noting that the GOP has "speed-dated" every other candidate, Colmes said voters should "get a load" of what he called the "crazy things" Santorum has said and done.
"Like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple hours so his other children would know it was real, I mean..."
At this point, Fox News contributor Rich Lowry tore into Colmes, calling his statement a "cheap shot."
Lowry lambasted Colmes for "mocking" the death of Santorum's child and said it was beneath the liberal talker, sometimes known as "Skeletor" among some conservatives

I too saw the "look" on his face and it moved me deeply. He was the rock of gibralter to keep it together talking about such a painful experience and although I already liked Rick a lot his stock went up quite a bit in my eyes.

Colmes is a scumbag for going after him for this. Colmes would say absolutely anything if he thinks it could keep his savior Obama in power.
I will be emailing them my disgust at COLMES, and no amount of apologies will help. He bore his soul in this one.
I quit watching after I saw they had Colmes on almost everyday. I was already fed up with FOX for their constant over and over reporting, the constant talking over one another, but COLMES was the final straw.
Out of touch? A lout? The mind boggles for explanations other than “that’s simply evil.”
But unless there’s some bizarre thing that Santorum did with the body beyond paying it normal funerary respects (wherever the physical location), I would go with the “that’s simply evil.”
We have a POTUS who thought that a CHILD who survived an attempted Abortion should be left to die in a closet. Is anyone surprised that Allan Colmes, one of his biggest Media Supporters BTW, really thought that his remark was out of line? Well if you do, I've got a bridge to sell you.
Just imagine a Republican saying anything even remotely as distasteful as Colmes did. The NYT would make it an above the fold Headline and hammer the point until the Republican was fired in disgrace. Only Democrats can say I'm sorry.

Out of curiosity, did Colmes make that comment before or after Palin praised Santorum and admitted being open to the VP spot today?
I am wondering if there’s a connection in a ‘cut it off at the pass’ kinda way. Because adding her supporters to his ‘surge’ may spell trouble for Romney/Obama.

Everyone should watch this forum by most of the candidates on November 19th. At 1hr and 59 minutes Rick Santorum tells about his daughter who was born premature. She has Cerebellum 18 which he says is like Downs Syndrome only worse. He says the doctors told them she was going to die. After four days they took her home and asked for Oxygen for her. They had to fight the doctor but they finally got it. The baby did fine until about 5 months then she got pneumonia. She was taken to the ER. She got over the pneumonia and is still alive today at 3 1/2 years of age.

No matter how impossible it would seem to be, especially under these circumstances, some people actually do have the grace to follow their Lord’s instruction.
One would hope that the Santorum’s graciousness has Colmes tonight on his knees, looking into his pustulated heart and offal-coated mind, pleading to be made worthy of the kindness they have shown him.

It sounds like you didn't even finish reading my post. At the forum Santorum said she is STILL ALIVE at 3 1/2 years of age.
We never know when anyone might have a Damascus Road (or a Grinch heart expanding) moment. God is the only one with access to that score ahead of time.

Am I cornfused? I thought there were two different children involved. One stillborn or who died soon after birth, another one who survived but had a difficult time. I’m talking about the one who died. That’s the one Colmes apparently stuck his foot in his mouth about. (The other one, who had breathing problems? apparently the physician initially in charge pulled a Dirty Trick, giving Mrs. Santorum a bottle of morphine to be sure the baby suffocated! Fortunately she checked when the baby had breating problems again.)

It is a good article and it hardly makes his personal losses “fair game” for mockery by vile twits like Colmes.
It seems like the majority of the Freepers think that Santorums baby died though which she hasn't yet. In fact she is now 3 1/2 yrs old. I posted a link to a video at #238 and #249 because I didn't think it posted the first time. In it he states this fact.
