In north-central Texas, Kyle grew up dipping tobacco, riding horses and hunting deer, turkey and quail a cowboy at heart.
The son of a Sunday-school teacher and a church deacon, Kyle credits a higher authority for his longest kill.
From 2,100 yards away from a village just outside of Sadr City in 2008, he spied a man aiming a rocket launcher at an Army convoy and squeezed off one shot from his .338 Lapua Magnum rifle.
Dead. From more than a mile away.
God blew that bullet and hit him, he said.

Ah yes, we’re the “nice guys” (also known as “the losers”)...
~~~ He retired a chief petty officer, and along the way, collected an armload of hardware, including two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars with valor.
"Thats just candy," Kyle said. "Thats not why we were there."
“Two silver stars and a bronze star with Valor. 160 confirmed kills.”
A girl sniper Lyudmila Mykhailivna Pavlichenko from the Ukrain had over 300 confirmed kills.
I wonder if she had ROEs like his?
We need the leaders of our Nation to have the same attitude and BACK it UP. Mess with us in any manner, including DOS and other hacking from anywhere gets a smash in the mouth.
ROE are for us only? You break the ROE just once then all rules are off the table. We bring the BFH.
But it is important to remember that the Ukrainians only succeeded in repelling the Nazi invaders because they were nice than them.
All of his excellent work and the work of the other soldiers will be in vain once the Muzzie Brotherhood takes over Iraq.
It is not being the nice guys that is screwing us over. It is the stupid rules of engagement that Obama has our troop’s hands tied with. Rules like having to be 100% sure that there is no chance of a civilian casualty before we can engage them, not firing at or entering the mosques where they hide. Treating terrorists as if they were uniformed soldiers on the battlefield. Releasing known terrorists back into the battlefield.
What we SHOULD be doing is to treat them EXACTLY like the Geneva Convention calls for; like criminals and terrorists who are rounded up, tried at a military tribunal and punished accordingly.
This is incompatible with my post #19 how exactly?
You seemed to think it was objectionable. Why was that again? Something to do with “being better than the savages we fight.” wasn’t it?
I don't know which "guy" you're talking about. If you doubt the bona fides of Chris Kyle, go read the article. Seems pretty genuine to me.
As to the other guy, Harold Wasdin was a member of SEAL Team Six and fought in the battle for Mogadishu. His book is very real and will curl your toenails.
Yup. Same with shotguns for bird hunting.
They strap explosives to their wives and daughters. They can don a burka and it's anyone's guess.
Is this more stand-up-chuck stupidity to name this guy and where his family lives? Was it not enough SEAL Team Six was blown out of the sky?
I don’t believe anything the lying russian bastards say. They lie about everything because they believe they have to best everyone.
Hmmm, still not a smart move. Sometimes it’s best to keep your mouth shut.
There is being a “nice guy” and being a guy who has his hands tied by the political leaders.
P.S. Or soldiers and Marines in WWII were compassionate when needed and fierce when required.
Is the mission to kill the enemy or to torture him from long distance? Blow the guy's head off and move to the next target. No need to be ghoulish about it.
I’d hate to be a woodchuck a mile away!!! LOL
Actually I think there may well be just such a need.
The war is NOT over until either, like Carthage, all the enemy are dead, or like WWII Japan, the enemy's will to fight is broken.
1.3 billion muslims on earth.
Chose a solution.
Chose wisely.
