(CNSNews.com) – As Iran ratcheted up its rhetoric Thursday about closing the Strait of Hormuz, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul revisited his earlier criticisms of Western policy towards Tehran, adding that Iran would be justified in cutting off the strategic waterway in response to sanctions.

At a campaign event in Iowa Thursday, Paul called Western sanctions imposed against Iran over its nuclear activities “horrendous” and “acts of war,”

Ron Pail needs to figure out witch side he is on. Western civilization or an Islamic caliphate Dr Paul? I like Paul but his views on Islam drive me crazy.

I’m no fan either but I do think some serious mistakes are being made in attacking Paul this way.

Personally I think the Mideast nations should step up instead of us relying on us in perpetuity. After all, its in their best interests, probably even more so than ours.

Ron should have a father/son talk with Rand and learn a thing or two.

"the muzzies and terrorists already are nuclear power,"

1) so if one has it, it's ok that they all have it?

2) The Twelvers in Iran don't have it. Their theology teaches that bringing destruction and chaos will hasten the arrival of the Mahdi (the anti-Messiah)

Pakistan is a nuclear power and Taliban insurgents were within 60 miles of the capital and seizing control in 2009.

They had to back off because we were still a heavy presence in Iraq and Afghanistan and sent that degenerate Hillary Clinton over to tell the government to make pretend they were fighting back.

OBL was living in the Pakistani equivalent of West Point.

Pretty soon the charade will be over, and AlQueda will take direct control of all of the Pakistani nukes.

Iran is not going to do anything to challenge the US navy, its all propaganda.

The Barbary Pirates were freedom fighters against the future apartheid state of Israel. Jefferson was a Zionist neocon and a slave to the banksters. Why do you hate the Constitution?

I’m pretty sure there will be a 3rd party run. The former gov of NJ is headed up a fund raising effort on behave of some TBD candidate. I doubt Paul will run, he is running for the GOP nomination for the same reasons I thought Sara should. To bring issues into the campaign that no one else will. If Paul would just stick to spending and following the Constitution his numbers would go way up. Sara’s issue was crony capitalism and corruption in gov. I think Sara could have won, Paul not so much.

"I would like to see RP run as 3rd party. I think he would draw more votes away from Obama than the GOP."

You may be on to something. I never met a Paulie that said he voted for Bush or Dole or Bush 41.

They are mostly stay-at-homers when it comes to November elections, and darn proud of it. I would actually be more worried by a Trump run, though something of the same dynamic would be at work there.

Paul's support is mostly from unregistered negative non-voters whose favorite phrase is "there ain't a dime of difference between 'em."

Ron is a huge Christmas gift to obama -Soros Dem party media operations.
His nutty stances and comments will fuel the
Axelrod AstroTurf that the GOP is wacko and
Too extreme .Just wait when these Code Pink - Obama bots posing as
Paul supporters storm these IA straw vote sites and
Try to scare off any opposing voters like they to the Hillary
Supporter in 2008 during st the TX and Wash state straw sites.
They literally screamed and threatened
And took iver the microphones !

Ron Paul is no longer a threat to the Republican Party. If Ron Paul runs as a third party candidate, he'll take the entire “Flaming Idiot” wing of the Democrat Party away from the Democrats and without them Obama will surely lose.

Keep up the good work Ron.

The IA Dems Team Obama were able to take advantage of the lax IA primary
Registration rules and are running a Operation Chaos .
Obama and the Obama media want smear the GOP using this nut as the GOP
Poster boy .
It’s a smart move .
The Dems are doing the same in NH which has an open primary
So supposed indies can vote in the GOP primary .

Ah, the “Shores of Tripoli”. A grand old custom, sadly lacking in these post-modern times.

When it comes to some fiscal issues, Paul is spot on. When it comes to other issues he goes absolutely nuts. In this case he is purely insane and should be checked into a hospital.
