Members of the “Occupy LA” movement are planning to make their presence felt at the 123rd Tournament of Roses Parade.
The demonstrators plan to walk banners ahead of a 250-foot by 50-foot blowup of the U.S. Constitution on Monday, as well as, a new version of a giant octopus puppet that was assembled during their two-month stay at City Hall.
“The new octopus is much more glorious and fully reflect Wall Street and all its ugliness,” said Pete Thottam, organizer of the Occupy Rose Parade.
Two marching bands will follow along with several people in costume but “Occupy” is not part of the parade.
“The Tournament of Roses has the right to issue the permits for the parade exclusively and they have not been issued a permit,” said Lt. Phlunte Riddle of the Pasadena Police Department.
Pasadena police say the activists will be allowed to follow the police cars at the conclusion of the parade.
“We’ll make sure, just like any other spectator that’s out there, that they don’t interrupt the parade, that they don’t infringe on other people’s rights just like we won’t have anyone infringe on their rights,” Riddle added.
Meantime, marchers with the Occupy movement have promised a peaceful demonstration
I hope they piss off a lot of people.

I thought they all got tired of camping, filth, petty to serious crime, and making fools of themselves. There are still some holdouts? Slow learners, even in that crowd, which is saying something...

Have they even read the Constitution? Do they even know what they are going to hold when they carry those banners?
They won't know what it is, just that they are showing what they intend to do - blow it up.
I am sure all of the camera’s will be on them as they follow the police cars, Lucky for me I have new batteries in my remote.

The street sweepers will be right behind them cleaning up the horse**** and bull****. All I can say is that the fleabaggers better double time it all the way through and not slow down.

Most usually do. TV has never shown the “after parade”. I’ve seen it in person and this will simply be a larger uglier version of the usual kooks and idle gawkers.

Funny how when these occupy freaks come to LA the burning of apartments start all of a sudden..could be a connection, maybe not..but some have speculated they could be doing this, would not be a surprise since these occupiers are anarchist scum
