Fox News ^ | December 29, 2011 | Joy Lin

Newt Gingrich routinely fields questions during his campaign stops and during the event showcasing Art Laffer's endorsement, a woman who had been sititing on stage behind him asked Gingrich for clarification about President Obama's country of birth.

SNIP

"All I can report is the state of Hawaii has certified that he was born there," Gingrich continued.

Gesturing to his wife beside him, he said, "We both were with a taxi driver one day who showed us the hospital. There is every reason to believe he is a citizen of the United States. The fact that he's already a terrible president, we don't have to go beyond that and try to find something beyond that."

She said McCain should have done more about those questions.

Which is the perfect answer.

I think later on she might have said Obama is probably eligible, but I don’t think she has ever ridiculed those who simply want the question answered and has actually affirmed that the question is worth asking.

And yeah, Levin was very clear that as Rubio was born in the US he is a natural born citizen. Period. I believe Levin is a constitutional scholar and does not buy the birther interpretation of what an NBC is.

On this issue, from my reading, I could see it either way. Thus, when a true scholar like Levin weighs in, I give it serious consideration. And when a scholar like John Roberts swears Obama in, I give that consideration too. Meanwhile, the birthers consumed with the NBC interpretation normally froth at the keyboard and accuse everybody who does not agree with them of being American hating subversives. There is no rational conversation with them. Thus - when deciding which interpretation I will believe, I put a lot of credence into the side that has rational and reasonable people making rational and reasonable defenses of their position. And in this area, Levin and company are way ahead.

They are here, all 8 of them...

I believe World Net Daily and perhaps InfoWars are now the birther lairs of choice. There were more here at one time, but some were so strident and hateful that they may have been banned. I remember one birther in particular ranted about hanging public officials for not exposing the birth certificate conspiracy - needless to say she was zotted.

Many Conservative Constitutional scholars? Name one besides that fraud Mark Levin.

Scalia. Roberts. Thomas. Bork. To name a few. Now you name a single person who doesn't hide behind a screen name who agrees with you? (crickets)

"What, those who have made this the only issue, they don’t understand is that, if we’re going to win, we have to pick our battles. If we pick the wrong battles, we will lose everything. Obama’s eligibility is not the path to defeating the Dems and RINO’s."

If you won't stand up to protect and defend the Constitution, then you have already surrendered and are no longer even in the fight, at least not on my side.

“We (Gingrich and, uh, one of his wives) both were with a taxi driver one day who showed us the hospital. There is every reason to believe he is a citizen of the United States.”

I was in LA and a taxi driver told me that he had bedded a half dozen gorgeous starlets. I don’t care who you are—that’s pretty impressive for a middle-aged, paunchy bald guy.

Can you cite their opinions on Article II, Section II. Clause V of the Constitution?

Disagree. Ann Coulter’s opinion no longer matters as she is a sell out. And any time her name is mentioned as proof that her position should be listened to by conservatives based on her background needs to be shunned.

She has jumped the shark and campaigns against Conservatives and supports Romney who is a Liberal. Wouldn't take bashing of Coulter as a personal insult to you. She is a mess and continues to showcase her true colors which are anti-American.

How do we defeat the lawlessness? Because the issue for me has always been the lawlessness. Now we’ve got Fast and Furious, Solyndra, Light Squared, the Chrysler dealership takeover, the illegal firing of Walpin, MF Global, etc ad nauseum... all establishing the utter uncontrollable lawlessness of the US government at every level. And even though we all know this lawlessness is going on, we have nobody who considers it worth the trouble to actually STOP IT.

I would venture a guess that this is what eats at our craws and is why so many of us cannot get excited about anybody. I would also venture a guess that this is why Donald Trump excited a whole lotta people at one time. The media wants us to think this is just an embarrassing conspiracy-type issue. No. Ron Paul stuff is embarrassing conspiracy-type stuff. This lawlessness is evident not only in the eligibility issue but also in everything Holder has ever done and how he is currently refusing to allow Sheriff Joe to enforce the border because they’re scared of Joe’s posse that knows Obama is ineligible. It’s all one big chunk. If they’re too scared and politically correct to address the lawlessness of forged BC’s, birth index lists that have legally non-valid BC’s listed, etc.... they will also be too scared and politically correct to really address Fast & Furious or any other crimes by multiple government agencies.

If Rick Perry filed a lawsuit today challenging Obama’s eligibility he would probably get the R nomination. Any of them would, because it would be a step of courage that indicated they are something besides the same warmed-over crony garbage that got us into this mess in the first place.

Trump’s tremendous surge earlier on flew in the face of all the cronies in the media and political establishment. They don’t get us, have no clue what makes us tick or what we are afraid about. We are afraid of an out-of-control, totally lawless, totally unaccountable government that screws us at every turn. On eligibility. On Fast & Furious. On Obamacare. On the border. On everything. What the judges told us in the eligibility issue is that it is nobody’s business, and the cronies are all satisfied with that answer, can’t understand whY WE’RE not fine with that answer.

Man, I wish Palin was running.

Palin parses just like Newt, she says the Obamanation was born in Hawaii - and nothing more.

I will stick with the side that wants to fix America, including getting back to its constitutional roots.

When winning a war, some battles, that can be fought later, need to be set aside for other battles that can be won.

Obama’s eligibility is not a battle that can be won right now. Getting Obama and the Dems out and getting control of congress is a much higher priority. Get a super majority Tea party congress and there will be nowhere Obama can run.

Focus on Obama’s eligibility, as the only thing that matters, and he’ll be sipping pina coladas for the rest of his life in Hawaii, protected by a secret service for the next ten years.

Well that should solve it. An obscure 1811 newspaper article posted in a blog dedicated to the NBC issue and then posted by a poster dedicated to the NBC issue.

Well damn, game set match I guess. (actually, I’ll see if this goes anywhere. It is interesting. )

If Palin was running, she would be like all the others on this issue.

Last thing she said about it it was that it was a “distraction”. FWIW, Bachmann also said the same.

We all know Obozo isn’t legit. but the issue nevers goes anywhere. I wish it would, but it won’t.

Why did Antonin Scalia refuse to meet at SCOTUS with Obama and Biden? Why do you think that was?

Exactly when did Chief Justice John Roberts look at Obama’s birth certificate, passport, social security records, or selective service records? Would you say that he could decide Obama’s eligibility without a case simply by “judge’s knowledge” so that he doesn’t need no stinkin’ evidence? If he ever claimed that would you still respect his faithfulness to either the Constitution or the rule by law rather than by men?
