Gingrich: Every Reason to Believe Obama Born in U.S. (Avoids Natural Born Citizen)
Fox News ^ | December 29, 2011 | Joy Lin

Newt Gingrich routinely fields questions during his campaign stops and during the event showcasing Art Laffer's endorsement, a woman who had been sititing on stage behind him asked Gingrich for clarification about President Obama's country of birth.

SNIP

"All I can report is the state of Hawaii has certified that he was born there," Gingrich continued.

Gesturing to his wife beside him, he said, "We both were with a taxi driver one day who showed us the hospital. There is every reason to believe he is a citizen of the United States. The fact that he's already a terrible president, we don't have to go beyond that and try to find something beyond that."

It would seem that the American Thinker featured writer finds visiting FR enjoyable because it provides him opportunity to eviscerate those with whom he (1) disagrees, or (2) agrees with, but resents because he can’t stomach anyone without his “creds” having an opinion others might measure to be of a higher caliber than his own.

He also does not seem to have an appreciation of the fact that around these threads Fantasywriter and butterdezillion are loved by their peers, as well as honored by others for the respect they consistantly show all commenters, and for the fact that neither has attempted through name-dropping to infer they possess a superior credibility in their thinking.

Just sayin’...

Thank you for that kind remark, GGMac. It meant a lot to me.

There are several items on the thread I want to respond to, but things have been frantically busy of late. Hopefully I’ll be able to post tomorrow.

Meanwhile, butter, thanks again for all your excellent research. I cannot imagine having sufficient patience to argue w a Fogbow troll. You do it, and all the while remain focused on both the facts and the larger issues at stake—principally a country of laws vs a lawless land where liberals make the rules and mock and ridicule anybody who doesn’t like them. Your insights and uncanny ability to prioritize are deeply appreciated.

Obama’s tapestry of lies will come unraveled eventually. It’s taking a while, but he’s going to be exposed in the long run. Hopefully it will mark a turning point in the country, such that a foreigner like Obama is never again allowed to occupy the Oval Office, and trash the country with hateful abandon.

"It is an idiotorium. . ."

This is belated, but do you mind if I borrow/steal that?

One might just as well scream deprecations fling poo at monkeys.

I feel very comfortable that were it you and I presenting our cases before the founding fathers who they would side with and I could almost guarantee you that it’s wouldn’t be with those supporting the Indonesian-Kenyan with the fake birth certificate(s).

Well, sure. Two countries that didn't exist in their time, filled with people that they wouldn't have had much time for, what else would they say?

But substitute "England" and "Scotland" for "Indonesia" and "Kenya" and the Founders might not have agreed with you. Some of them were born over there. Some had parents who were. Some of them had fought alongside men who'd been born there. Most of them had ancestors from the British Isles. None of them were "natural born citizens" in the sense that you want to apply the phrase now.

It's not at all clear that the Founders would have barred a native-born citizen (or as they might have said) a natural-born citizen whose mother or father was born in England or Scotland or Ireland or Wales. Some men of that very background have run or been elected and sworn in as president. And once we accepted that, it's hard to argue that the American-born son (assuming he is American-born) of a Kenyan father is any different.

If you had been around back then and made your case, maybe some of the Founders would have agreed with you. The Virginians and New Englanders had been here for a long time. On the frontier and in the other colonies which were settled later things might have been different.

But in any case, we have to rely on what they actually wrote. They had an opportunity to explicitly spell out that a President's parents had to be citizens or even American-born, but they didn't make that unambiguous. They left it unclear, with room for conflicting interpretations, and it's not at all clear that the Vattel interpretation is the most plausible. Anyway at this point, no court is going to overturn an election that's already been held.

The military caved to the usurper. The courts caved to the usurper. The congress caved to the usurper.

Some people like to say "fraud." You've moved on to "usurper." People elect lousy leaders. It happens. It would be nice if we could believe that they were all illegitimate fakes, but things aren't always that simple.

It's exceedingly clear. The founders all signed the Constitution. Your premise is incorrect.

U.S. Constitution - Article 2 Section 1

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States,at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

You're assuming that a "natural born citizen" is something different from a "native born citizen" or a "citizen from birth."

It's questionable whether that was ever accepted as true. It won't hold up in court now.

Barack Obama was born of Marxists; mentored by a communist writer and activist during his formative years; spent his college days hanging around Marxist professors and activists; worked as a radical community organizer, using the radical tactics of the communist, Alinsky; attended a radical church; was introduced to Chicago politics by a communist in the home of two communists; and now lends his political skill to the international goals of radical activists. He had radicals on his campaign, and has them in his administration. The simple fact is, since the age of 12, the people closest to Obama have been active, radical Marxists, and dues-paying members of the Communist Party USA.
